    You don't need it. You can use your switch with a TV by using the dock. This cable does the same job but is easier to carry.

      So you mean When plug the cable to the tv and the switch, switch will output to the tv without the need of the dock?

  PSA: You need to plug the power and USB-C in before the HDMI so it has enough power to switch to the correct graphics mode; otherwise you'll only get a fraction of the entire screen.
