Im a complete drone newbie, but this seems like a bargain so i bought one, should be fun.

  Reviews elsewhere seem positive.

  Genuine question : what is the equivalent DJI model and how does the price and performance compare to the Potensic?

    It's a DJI Mini 2 clone so that is probably the best comparison. The Mini 2 SE is about 2x the price.

    The main benefit of the Mini 2 over this one would be the camera gimbal. It allows you to point the camera independantly of the drone, and it better isolates the camera from the drone's movements.

    On paper the transmission range is a lot less too, but not sure a basic user would really notice that.

    The image quality is 'less' good, especially in low-light. That's just because it's cheaper.

    If you only need it for utility purposes (e.g. checking for shit on your roof, scouting out an area ahead of your 4x4, that kind of thing) I think this would be perfectly suitable. If you want to use it to create/publish content then I'd definitely go for the DJI.

      Thanks for taking the time to compare the two.

      The reviews I've seen all mention the lack of gimbal as an issue but conclude it's still good bang for buck.

      I'd guessed this may be a "why buy this when double the price buys a better one" scenario but that's the case for most products.

      As you've observed, the Potensic would meet the usage needs of many users.

  No drone can be like DJI. I would go for a used mini 2 instead of this.
