[SA] $200 When You Switch to Black Friday Saver Plan @ Simply Energy

101

A great savings of $200 on electricity bill. And the rates are better compared to Sumo (at least).

Get $200 Credit On Your First Electricity Bill When You Switch To Black Friday Saver Plan.
Hopefully, some reprieve from chilly Melbourne weather.

Bonus - Good to know Simply Energy provides Carbon Neutral Energy.

NSW & VIC gets $300 credit

Awful rates but have just signed up for a churn now that RedEnergy's 20k QFF points have landed in the account. Think Powershop is still doing $150 off their first bill for those after better rates

    • Good find, @nickluca95 definitely better rate than Simply Energy. Will churn to PowerShop after a couple of months!

  • Their NRMA plan seems better in value, however, for Ausgrid, they seems to have $1 per day supply charge + 37-39cents per KW, which is substantially higher then Red Energy.

Daily supply is about 23c more expensive and kWh rate is 10c more expensive than nectr.

So based on a year I'd pay about $84+438-300=$222, less 11% discount, $197 extra per year.

    No thanks.

Gimmick credit and gimmick monthly discount.

Do you need to stay a year? could you stay for 2-3 months then jump to other?

  • Does the $300 credit need to be used on the first bill or does any unused portion rollover to the following months? Wording seemed open to interpretation

I am with Simply Energy and received $200 credit upon sign up and the unused balance carries forward to be used against future charges. Hopefully this is the same.

    • Thank you both 🙏

    • Wait, arent they the one that created the problem ???

  • How does switching work with Qld’s energy relief rebate? At the moment a rebate of about $137 per quarter for four quarters is automatically paid by the Qld govt to the electricity retailer (for Qld residents).

If an account is in credit before switching (e.g., due to the rebate), would this amount be forfeited upon switching?

The provider will have to pay you any remaining credits - whether over payments (prepay or estimated bills) or rebates

  • Looks like only $200 in South Australia. We have exorbitant wholesale prices here so I expect the retailer can absorb too much of that in their margins.

  • Trieds to sign up for the offer but it doesn't work in Brisbane "Sorry, this offer is not available in this area yet. If you think there has been an error, please get in touch."

just called them - $300 credit will roll over to the next bills if there are any unused funds

Awful rates but good for 2 months for me. Then churn.
Electricity providers are the “credit cards” of 2023. Take the benefit and run to the next one.

  • Do we have an expiry?
