When you're a big cow, every bidet is slim

  • lol bigcow

  • I was looking at getting one of these and connecting it (using a plumber) to a hot-cold mixer. It is possible with this model to point it away from one's nether regions for the 10 seconds it will take for the water to go from cold to warm?

    • No. It points and shoots but you can slow dribble the water before it shoots, though the slow dribble may not be enough flow to a activate your water heater (ignore if your have hot water storage tanks - i E. Not on demand)

      • That's a pity you can't point it away while the water warms up. I've got a storage hot water tank but it's only 1m from the toilet.

Can anyone suggest a similar model (but budget/non-electric) that has the ability to point the nozzle away for 10 seconds while the water warms up?

        • Your best bet is probably one with electrics so it warms it up on demand with temperature sensors etc

This is not a deal, this is the standard price now. It's on sale literally every week.

  • Will be very useful for my bigcow (mother-in-law)

I got one of these a while ago and finally got around to installing it on the weekend.

One star so far. The pressure feels like it could take the paint off the wall but for whatever reason its ability to do its job is still not great. Unless that job is to make your whole backside wet. If that is it's job, then bravo.

    • Appreciate the review. I used some in Bali and thought they were the best thing ever.

Is there any adjust ability? Angle? Pressure could probably be dropped from a plumber if they put in a valve?

      • +2

The knob on the side allows you to adjust the pressure but for whatever reason it is really mild up until about half way and then suddenly it comes out like a pressure washer. No adjustability on the angle. And it takes some getting used to with the cold water.

I Loved them in Japan, and thought this might replicate that, but not even close.

  • I keep seeing bidet deals in Ozb but struggling to find an answer to this:

By law (or to ensure we're compliant for insurance purposes) do we need a licensed/certified plumber to install a bidet?

In my understanding bidet seems to be quite a simple installation as long as you install a backflow prevention device we should be compliant? Or no?

I mean with the installation of powerpoints its very clear you need an electrician and everyone I know have been complying with that.

do we need a licensed/certified plumber to install a bidet?

Yes. Definitely simple to install but it still needs a plumber to do it. On the surface, it looks a bit daft, but given how badly I've seen people stuff up some really simple things I can understand why it's a requirement.

      • -3

I'm asking not whether we 'can do it', but wheter we're "allowed to do it," though…

Like if i install an electrical outlet and cause it to burn down my house, my insurance won't cover it…

        • +2

it still needs a plumber to do it

    • No one would pay a plumber to install a $20 bidet…….

      • But would there be insurance implications?

        • If the bathroom floods, remove the bidet and trash it before calling your insurer. And don't post about it online ;)

Just get the full electric, heated seat, heated water, massage function etc. bidets.

These are just stepping stones to get to the proper one. Skip this one and spend the money on a proper one, it is SO much better.

I have 2 DIB bidets (I think they are korean) and they have been great. I feel like a caveman whenever I stay in a hotel or am somewhere else have have to use the "traditional toilets and toilet paper only"

I just did a search on google for DIB bidet and they start from $499

    • Downside is toilets that are separated from the bathrooms don't have electrical outlet to plug the heated/powered ones into.

  • Christine (1983) - " "Shit wipes off."

  • Looking for one that has a left hand side water inlet

  • Are there any good quality versions left?

I remember years back you gopt a lot of good quality versions for 100-200

But it looks like a race to the bottom for quality and price

I tried looking at the 200+ market but they're slim and poor quality
