    Bargain!!!

    • +2

If you have a child and purchase 10 every week, then you may consider the bargain it offers.

      • +2

Except then you already own all the current ones!

  • +1

In store price as well ?

    • +2

Yes!! Sorry forgot to put that on title.

  • I wish the Disney Pixar Cars were that price :(

    • +2

      You wish jellyfish

      • +2

        No way stingray

        • see ya later alligator 🐊

    • I thought I was the only one who bought Disney cars

      • +3

Originally got them for my son. But now I’ve turned into a collector haha.

  • +7

    Metal chassis or bust! 🏎

    Good price still.

    • +2

10000% Finally found someone else who knows what is going on..

    • They're not metal? Ew gross.

    • Most are plastic chassis sadly. Still got 8 of them though…

  • Ohhhh 😮

  • +9

I wonder if these will be included in the "Basket of Goods" used to calculate the CPI index. Then we can be within our "Target range" so as not need another Interest rate rise

  • Any f1 cars amongst these?

    • +1

It says assorted. So it's best for people to go in-Store and have a look what's there.

      • Cheers OP, went instore to pick what i wanted, set myself a limit of 10, came home with 20. It was a bit of a frenzy but they had loads in tubs all around the toy section which was handy.

    • +1

there's an F1 car. i can confirm this i bought the array of cars but bought another for $2 just last weekend

    • +5

There may be F1-style (open-wheel) cars, but I don’t think Hot Wheels currently makes any official F1 branded cars i.e. You’re not going to find a Red Bull or Ferrari car in there.

      • matchbox has f1 but they are slow in the hotwheel track :P

      • There is an Indycar

    I want cybertruck.

  • +13

I always find more adults than kids searching for their collection in store 😂

    • +5

It's a camouflage. They are buying for the "kids". 😄🙂

      • "internal child"

My mate that worked at Kmart said that some guy would willingly come and stock 10 boxes of these on the shelves every week for them in exchange for being able to buy whatever he liked.

      • +11

Probably scalping all the super treasure hunts and selling them for $100+ each on ebay.

        • Yep no doubt, I reckon anything over $15 would probably be worth their while

        • +1

If the guy was a pro he probably did this at every Kmart store within driving distance.

  • +1

I buy them off marketplace usually.

A tub (200+ cars) for $25 to $30. Some end up vintage or limited edition worth $$$

    • Do they need to be in pack still?

      • Not really. As long as they are in v good to excellent condition.

I have a few cars worth a few hundred

        • +28

What do you do with all the time you save by shortening “very” to “v”.

    • Do you buy to flip or collect?

    • I remember giving away my big tub full of hot wheels to my younger neighbors when I was a teenager. I have no idea about what is rare but I had a pretty nice collection!

  • +1

So this is just a lucky dip when you buy online… used to get lucky dip bags at the local markets as kid, ah childhood, how long ago you are now…

  • Thanks ops. Got 50 pickup

    • +1

This is the deal that when people say I bought 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 they actually mean it. 🙂😄

  • +14

Great price. My 4 year old has been collecting hot wheels for 2 years. I purchased him the 50 cars for $59 from target last week and half of them were crap. My son is very picky, only likes teslas Audis Mercedes and 4WD, I can’t trick him with any other ones. He knows how to read car logos but doesn’t know how to read his name. 😊

    • +1

      Wifey, is that you? Lol

    • +2

You've lost the ozbargain badge if you didnt sign up for the $10 off newsletter then 1 one more vehicle for $1.60 for free shipping.

      • +2

True, but I went in store and purchased it, I used my flybuys card and got other crap from target which cost about $300 and got $10 flybuys points.

        • Good recovery

  • +3

Thanks, just picked up a few in store. They're listed as $2 still, but scan at 75c.

  • +3

My 4 year old is happy about this, the gyproc walls of my house are not!

  • -1

Kmart don't even make any money on these at $2

  • Cheers OP. Im outta here!

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks! Just purchased 15 to include in party bags for my son’s birthday

  • I once bought 30 of these at $1 and give to my kid to play, end up getting 2 which are the treasure hunt ones. LOL

    • What's a treasure hunt one

      • The one with the rubber wheels

      • Treasure hunt just has the special flame symbol hidden somewhere on the car's decals and on the card behind the vehicle. Something for the kids to get excited about.

Super treasure hunts come with rubber wheels and usually metallic shinier "spectra flame" paint in the same shade as the normal hot wheel model. Also a "TH" graphic printed on the car. Something for the adults to get excited about, and why you might see some random non-employee dude helping Kmart to stock their shelves.

        • And worth heaps on ebAy! lol

  • +2

Anyone remember when we were buying 50 packs off eBay for $40? They were a bargain so 5 cents cheaper a car this deal. Not bad.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/707885

  • Wow, purchased them like an hour ago and my order already shipped

  • Grabbed 50 for pickup for the kids

  • Is collecting the set of 250 going to be worth something in the future?

  • grabbed 19 today for my nephew.

  • Waiting for my email to advise that the order has been filled as it wouldn't surprise me if they sell out of them. These are great Christmas stocking fillers

    • Locked in. Pretty impressed by this deal!

  • +1

Cheers, dropped by and got 10. The labelled place on the shelves was almost empty but there was a big bin of them in another part of the shop, so it might pay to have a look around

  • +7

Buy one for 75c with free shipping with Onepass. Crazy!

  • +1

These are so great for bulking up other gifts and just random small gifts. great price. Even at $1 I find them very high ROI for what they are.

  • +1

Bought 100, stocked up for kids bday party

  • +2

Ive bought 50 click and collect, the idea being I return on the spot the ones I don't want and swap them over. I will report back how successful this idea is.

    • I did this, they just refunded the ones I didn't want and charged me the same price for the ones I was swapping for

      • Indeed, out of 50 they only had 12 duplicates…pretty good if you ask me

  • There were heaps at Sunnybank on Saturday. The display rack was running low but one of the staff was moving two large crates and just told everyone that when those started to get low he'd just bring out more from the back.
