No Purchase Fee for Minimum $100 Activ Visa Flowers eGift Card (Save $4.95 Per Gift Card, 2000 Uses Only) @ Giftz.com.au

150
Flowers

No Purchase Fee for Minumum $100 Activ Visa Flowers eGift Card. eGift card available for up to $750 in value.

Damn, no discount amidst rising inflation, but its an okay deal if you need to meet a credit card spend this month.

You can also use this to convert your Coles MC cards into eWallet linkable cards which I personally find fancier to use than swiping on the EFTPOS terminals.

  • Do these qualify for cashback (TopCashback 5%) and Shopback (3%) or does the use of the coupon code invalidate that?

    • Cashback is ineligible on the following purchases - all Active Visa variations, Mobile Pay digital Mastercard, Appliances Online, Uber, Uber Eats, David Jones, Bunnings, Restaurant Choice, Big W, BWS, EG Fuel Card, Dan Murphey's, Woolworths Supermarket, WISH, Village Cinema, Webjet, H&M, Harvey Norman, Flight Centre and Total Tools purchases.

      • Thanks yes I see that now at https://www.topcashback.com.au/giftz

        And https://www.shopback.com.au/giftz shows temporarily unavailable

        • SB canceled all cashbacks on Activ VISA purchases made during the period that the exclusion list was not on its site. I am too lazy to dispute with it. Some might be doing it now. Hence, the store is pulled off atm.

The only things left after exlusion list that may be of slight interest are its own Ultimate eGCs.

          • @Neoika: yeah just noticed 0 cb for giftz purchase 3months ago, lodged wrong bonus ticket to SB

          • @Neoika: SB cancelled most of my cashbacks don't think its limited just to Activ VISA.

Just buy and dispute because they excluded 'Active', not 'Activ' lol /s

  • Can you get fly buys points for Coles prepaid MasterCard?

    • No, there's no Flybuys points for online purchases. Literally the only 2 reasons I could think of for buying this card is listed on the description.

But you may get credit card points or HSBC cashback for e.g.

You can use these cards to frontload the minimum spend on a credit card if you need to hit a target quickly or buy these with an AmEx and then use the Activ card to spend at retailers that don't accept American Express, thereby earning better/more rewards points with the American Express card instead.

        • thanks daanish! Only word of caution will be to only buy as much needed for the near term spend. I once loaded up 7k but didn't end up with that much of purchases, and soon (55days or less) or CC bill comes due and you're effectively sitting on unnecessary debt.

        • Has anyone tried to add these to a wise card then send it back out

You would lose some cash in fees of course

          • +1

@scanuck: Doesn't work. From the terms the Activ cards specifically block their use at "Money Transfer" merchants (MCC 4829).
This includes both Wise and Revolut (Also tried myself)

            • @wangasm: How about Coles MasterCard? Could you try that, I don't have a Wise card and don't wanna bother to get one unless the method above works.

              • @nsingh21: I've tried that before and also doesn't work on both apps, plus also tried on Qantas Money. They've got it locked down.

                • @wangasm: Guessing you haven’t found a way to turn them back into cash?

                  • @scanuck: Unfortunately no. But I haven't tried the more riskier methods like Paypal transfer and betting apps.

                    • @wangasm: Thanks guys, unfortunately seems like they're well blocked. Agreed, PayPal and some betting apps do work but the moment you add multiple prepaid cards on your account, you'll have your account deactivated and funds withheld. I remember reading PayPal holds your money for 180 days!…the opportunity cost is quite high.

@scanuck: Last year I used a coles mastercard to initially load a brand new wise account and that worked. also I added two of them to wise after it was set up, but after that they stopped working all together.

But I suspect that there might be a chance of it working for the very first load your account step but I cannot test.

            • @denserham: Might give it a go - might try and load in a different currency

  • I would strongly urge people to not use giftz until they sort out their merchant facilities.

blackhawk is a major player in the giftcard world, so its pretty negligent that they cant fix their error when making payments, where it declines your cards but still takes a hold on funds.

with machine learning, merchant facilities will start to blacklist your cards on other sites, due in part to the flag created by continually having your cards declined.

I have had this happen to one of my cards, (coles was the culprit not giftz)
its impossible for me to use it on some online portals.

You should not use this prepaid card for Coles online purchase as it has been discussed in the Shopback Supermarket Activ VISA topic.

Alternatively, PayPal seems to be the favourite option for most of us here on OzB. Load your prepaid card there and use normally, I've never had a PayPal transaction decline.

        • It appears people were having same issues with PayPal

      • No I don’t use prepaids, I use my Amex.
It’s the same ongoing issue that they haven’t fixed from this other deal, and many complaints.

        • Your declined purchase on one site has no impact on another site. Your logic is flawed. Try other cards for small amount. Since refund is not instant and daily limit may be defined differently among financial institutions, you may hit the card limit even if it'll be reverted.

          • @Neoika: You are incorrect, cards go through a process where the merchant facilities verify the likelihood of that card to be fraudulent or risky.
            This includes past behaviour.

I have it from Westfield directly that my card has been reported risky. Like I said, this is coles, that caused it and I have direct from them that I need to call up and whitlist my card before using online with them each time.
Giftz is likely to cause the same scenario if it keeps declining your cards. If you haven’t had it happen, then you have no idea what you’re talking about.
