I personally have this and had it for over a year. Had great experience with it, but unknown brand so ymmv. Mine is still working perfectly fine and this one is significantly lighter compared to the Belkin one. (though that might actually be a bad thing as that might mean inadequate heat spreader inside. Don't remember pushing this to the limit but I did have an iPad and an iPhone plugged into this as well as a usb b device.)

Single port goes up to 65w fyi, so 100w is the total output.

Stellar price for this for sure though

  • Have you charged your laptop with it?

No, all my laptops were high powered unfortunately, so 65w would barely trickle charge it basically. Also, yeah as you worry, I also don't want to risk a multi-thousand dollar laptop to save $50-100 on a charger :D

As a general rule, I never charge my Mac's anything other than their charger that they came with if I can help it.

But phones and tablets are usually totally fine for me. Lower Wattage so lower risk (or so I believe lol)

The danger is that the charger will develop a fault at some point and output higher voltage than whatever is plugged in can handle.

This is not super common, but more of a risk with a charger from a brand with unknown quality control. From the examples I've seen, it does not seem related to the amount of power being used.

Risk is likely best related to value of the item being plugged in. It's fine for old or low value items. But I'd suggest not risking anything you value highly, like a phone you use day to day.

        • Only risk if plug phone with cable like caveman.
          Me use wireless.

Seems like good value for 100+W

this one is significantly lighter compared to the Belkin one

This is a huge plus, as the air can get to it

  • Is this a GAN charger?

    • I believe so.

This looks identical to the Zyrontech version for half the money.

    • I was about to post the same thing - but the Zyron one is rated to 156W, so clearly the internals are different.

  • I wonder how long this sale will last. Might try find a teardown video or test of this charger
