    Got one, thanks OP.

Dunno what’s going on at Amazon, but geez I’m spending some dollars.

I both love and hate it.

I just got off the phone with my bank. They blocked my card due to suspicious activity. 🙄

        I bought a $1600 telescope for $250 last week.

I have no want or need for it, but had to buy it for the savings.

        • This is the OzBargain way!

        • +1

          Which one?

        • +13

If you didn't want or need it, then you didn't save money. You spent $250 on something you didn't need.

          • +6

@AussieDaddy: This is correct, but I’m irresponsible with money.

I might use it, but I’ll probably try to sell it.

        • 😂😂😂

        • +4

I bought a $1000 trumpet for $300 a few months ago, don't event know how to play it, sold it within a week after failing to do so.

        • I feel ya. I bought a few $200 to $300 letter boxes for around $20 to $30 cause they cheap. Have no use for them.

  • +16

Great price. I had one of these and was happy with it, range and speed were OK for commuting. I had it exchanged under warranty and Amazon were great to deal with.

$388 is a steal (and I'm sure whoever stole mine would agree).

    • +2

I had my ebike stolen 3 months ago and it irritates me daily.

      • Were both of yours locked up when stolen? What sort of locks? Wanting to get an e scooter in near future and looking at lock options. Will probably use two when in higher risk places.

        • Was in a lock up garage with 12 townhouses and D Locked.

Couldn't have done much more other than putting it next to my bed.

          • @mecusherb: Well both ways suck! Sounds like there's not too much you could have done.

mecusherb - Super unlucky to have it taken from a locked up garage and with a D lock. I assume they would need an angle grinder, or maybe lots of effort with a hacksaw to get through a D lock?

majikshoe - Yeah I wonder if people saw and did nothing? Chain and D/U locks sounds like the toughest options too. I've heard not to rest the chain on the ground ie have it elevated as thena hammer wil be very ineffective. Do you remember if it was lying partly on the ground? Which city was it?

My thoughts was to get either a U/D lock or chain lock plus a more lightweight cable lock, in the hope that two locks would be more of a deterrent.

            • @Dan83: Yeah it sucks.

There are a few positives I suppose. I have gone back to riding a normal bike so I am getting better excercise, the thief dumped a good bike in our garage and did the switcheroo. We reported it to the police a number of times and have also scoured the local facebook groups etc and no one has stated it is missing. Police are also not going to come and pick it up. So, easy come easy go?

Oh and the bike was gifted to me.

I mean it still sucks because it was a top range bike but I'm not out of pocket because of it, just inconvenienced.

        • +1

Mine was secured with a midrange bike chain wrapped around a tree outside a busy CBD pub. I thought the busy location would deter, but no. They smashed the lock off somehow and did it without anyone noticing.

My new scooter has an Abus D lock which is supposed to be pretty good. Not willing to park it in public for long though.

          • @majikshoe: Either people didn't notice for being busy looking at their phones, or they did notice and decided it was not their problem.

I've seen both happening too many times to be surprised, only get mildly disappointed.

To the OP: if you’re planning on keeping this in the boot of your car all day every day, expect to come back to a burnt out car one day, after the battery has been cooked to death by the australian sun. At best, the battery will be essentially useless after 1-2 years.

    • +3

I dont have this scooter but another segway ninebot, and battery did not degrade much, maybe 1-2% in the 9 months I used it (3-4 days a week, about 8km total each day)

      • +1

but did you leave it in the car?

        • No I didn’t.

But why would you leave it in the car? Don’t we take it out to cover the last miles, eg drive and park then scoot to work/school/etc…?

I wonder if the same issue would effect battery in EV?

      • +1

I had to replace my battery recently after 3-4 10km trips a week for 2.5 years. Great value! Each trip easily saved me $10 from having to use PT

  • +4

Oh man, I'm sad to have missed out on this one!

    • +14

Im guessing you have one then full time

        • +12

          lol pathetic response
          username checks out again

  • Missed it :(

  • +2

It is bit smaller than F series and less comfy. You can feel the every curves on the road. But this price is irresistable.

  • This'd be great for doing a light grocery shopping down the road (where to park this safely though) or visiting neighbours around the hood or basically doing quick errands.

Am seriously considering one. Any recommendations (features and price wise) for a complete newb? Thanks.

    • +2

Yeah just be careful on laws where you live, can't even ride on a footpath on VIC without being harassed by cops lol.

    • Also not allowed in NSW.

You're allowed in WA, up to 10km/h on the footpath I believe.

      • Not allowed here, there, and everywhere.

Then what's the effing point of having one then? lol

        • You can use it on private property.

  • +1

Would have gone for this one as it would have been a nice cheap upgrade to my also bought cheaply

Xiaomi Scooter 1S on ebay for $399, Whoever got this got themselves a great bargain, lucky you.

  • Hi Cheap, I'm nzcoops

  • It has max speed of $30, so illegal in some states?

  • Damn missed it. Great deal. Would have been useful for me as I'm in between cars. Oh well. Thanks OP.

  • +2

Did it come with a fire extinguisher?

  • How repairable are these? or this line of e-scooters in general?

  • Geeeeee….. it is cheapy
