OCCOM Not Upholding Their 24 Month Contract Price

Hey guys,

Did anyone else sign up for the 24 month contract OCCOm deal that was posted last year?
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/726629

Occom recently sent an email out for pricing increases, effective in January. I've reached out to their support team and was told that they will not be upholding the 24 month contract price, has anyone else experienced the same?

Any options here?

    Contact the TIO.

  • Any options here?

Switch providers. Leave a legit review on Google.

  • If they are cancelling the contract, go elsewhere

From a very quick glance at the t+c's, it was a no-lock in contract.

  • If you signed the 24 month contract and they are altering it…..obtain in writing their refusal to not uphold the price. Then contact the TIO.

  • Hi OzBargainers,

We've noted the concerns raised on the forum and would like to take this opportunity to clarify some key points and address any confusion regarding our P22M24 promotion and recent price adjustments.

    Understanding the P22M24 Promotion:

Firstly, we want to emphasise that the P22M24 offer was a special promotional campaign that offer discounted monthly fee for 24 months, not a binding 24-month contract. All customers signed up with this promotion is under no lock-in contract.

We have explained this clearly in our reply a little over a year ago in the comment below original deal post here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/726629?page=1#comment-12715397

We apologise if this distinction was not made clear enough in our earlier communications.

    Recent Price Changes Explained:

The recent adjustment in pricing is a response to market changes, particularly the revised pricing from NBN. This situation has impacted not just us, but all ISPs across the industry. As outlined in our terms and conditions, we reserve the right to modify our pricing to align with these market shifts, ensuring that we can continue delivering high-quality service. We understand that any change in pricing can be concerning, and we assure you that we have taken steps to minimise the impact on our customers.

Our Commitment to the P22M24 Registrants:

To our P22M24 registrants, we recognise the commitment you made by choosing our service last year. We are dedicated to honouring the terms of the P22M24 promotion. You will continue to enjoy the discounted rate for the full duration of the 24-month promotional period. Following this, the standard rates will apply, which reflect the current market conditions.

    A Note of Thanks

We apologise for any inconvenience or confusion caused by these developments. Our team is committed to providing clear and transparent communication.

If you have any further questions or need assistance related to the P22M24 promotion or other services, please do not hesitate to contact us via [email protected]. Your satisfaction and understanding are paramount to us, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

    Warm Regards,

    Occom Support Team

    • It seems your issue was offering a fixed price for 24months VS offering a monthly discount off the RRP price.
You gambled on NBN wholesale staying the same or dropping in the next 24months. And lost :(

I very surprised (and pleased) to see a honest response and sticking to your promo! Especially considering you will probably now be loosing money on these customers.
