Noice, great value mid range. Wont be disappointed unless you need OLED level backlight or 4 hdmi 2.1 slots

  • Probably not buying either, just interested. But this or TCL C845?

Depends on your situation. Basically Sony has the better processing power which means better and more accurate picture quality especially in SDR content. However, most Sony TVs struggle with local dimming and brightness which means sometimes dark scenes can look grey-ish. TCL you are paying less but out the box the TV's picture isn't great so you have to fiddle around with it. Also, there are quite a few issues that have plagued TCL tvs for the last few years such as aggressive processing making image quality look strange, wifi issues and crashing applications (both tv brands use google tv OS btw). Sony is more expensive but you are basically paying for their processing units aka the "sony tax".

      • Half the shit I watch won't be 4K anyway. But I would have with it with PS5 in 4K

        • Then I'd go for the TCL. It's cheaper and has more gaming features than the Sony TV. TCL has a dedicated eARC port and a lot less input lag in gaming mode than the Sony TV. Just beware that with the TCL you'd have to do some tweaking out of the box whereas the Sony comes pretty much calibrated and ready for use.

@mullman: Thanks. Tweaking out of the box is barely a downside if it's just a one off thing
