I got this for $15 a few weeks back, it's surprisingly decent. Holds my SM58 with no issues.

A man on a budget, but with taste.

Anyone used these with a blue yeti?

    • Too heavy for it

      • Tighten the screws and it's fine

        • Won't the screws break?

          • +10

@edfoo: Not on your life, my Hindu friend!

          • @edfoo: from the base it will start bending forward over time. very cheap, but its only $5, so can't complain.

    • Should be fine. I have only used it with a Razer Mic, but the Blue Yeti mics aren't heavy. They weigh around half a kg. The Mic that comes packaged with the Kmart Arm in the bundle weighs more than a Blue Yeti mic.

      • How do you use it with a Razer mic?

        • +2

Unscrew the mic holder on the arm, then screw the razer mic in (after removing it from the stand). It uses the same size threads.

          • @GunnerMcDagget: My Razer mic does not use same thread sizes (Seiren X) 😒

            • @Tehcookiemonsta: Maybe they changed it. I bought this Kmart arm and I use the Seiren Mini and it fits.

Had to remove the extra thread adapter though. Not sure about the Seiren X, but the Mini has the stand and mic. You have to unscrew the mic from the adjustable stand, then unscrew the large thread holder from the mic. That gives you a female thread for the kmart mic holder (after removing the mic holder from the kmart arm so only the male screw point remains)

      • The descirption says mic not included. I would love it if they include a mic even if its a shitty one tk do some solo karaoke and another the fuc out of my neighbours

  • had one from amazon, they are fine, just a but noisy when you move it around

Combine with this for cheap hobby/craft light.

I strapped a LED spotlight to it and use it on my welding bench :D

Bought this a fair while back. Surprisingly good. Doesn't have a massive reach though so keep that in mind if you have a large desk.

    • Does it have a microphone

      • Not this one. But you can get a pack from kmart that has the arm and a microphone. Probably a pretty rubbish microphone though.

  • This looks like exactly like the generic one i got off amazon. If so, they're decent and able to hold my Razer Siren X

  • I've got this one and am using it with a Shure mic and it just baaaarely is strong enough for it. Also the springs can occasionally make a little pingy noise when you move the arm. But if you keep it pretty still you won't have that problem obviously.

Top end mic with low end arm lole

  • Good arm, good price.

  • Use it with my Aldi mic , works well . I did use the butterfly screw from the ALDI mic holder instead of the screw that came with this

  • As for those who have bought or are buyijg this, any recommendations for a cheap but decent microphone for podcasting that you could recommend..

      Razer Seiren Mini, HyperX SoloCast.

Both of these are decent, light on features and have basic desk stands.

However, there don't seem to be any sales at the moment. I'd wait for a decent discount before buying either of them.

There may also be generic brands that aim to compete with the lower end of name brands and undercut further by being even cheaper, but I don't have an example off the top of my head. If these generic ones come from the same factory as the lower end name brand mics, then there's potential for a good deal.

You haven't mentioned what features you value in a microphone, so maybe you actually value some of the features in higher end mics that others find superfluous.

Just grabbed mine, very pleased with the overall quality especially given the price.

edit: it can even hold my sony mirrorless camera without too much issue! (around 900g)

  • Got it a couple of weeks ago when it was $10 - so it was $10 well spent. Will not go wrong for $5.

  • Pretty sure it is the same boom arm from this Kmart mic and boom arm pack.
Used it for the last 2 years with no problems, until just recently the boom arm base which slots into the clamp started to bend and crack. Its thin metal and was bound to happen eventually. For the the money though, well worth it. I bought 2 as spares. Cheers OP.

    • I have a few that I use for mics, cameras, and lights. The pin that goes into the base is just a rolled tube of sheet metal, is isn't very strong. I cut a bit of steel rod and cram it inside the pin, and it's much much stronger.

PS. The real bargain is to buy the mic and arm together, keep the arm, and sell the mic on FB for the same price you paid for the lot.

  • nice got one, pop filter alone is worth more than $5

  • +1

great deal, i won't use it, but great deal. in for 2.

going to gift this to my friends who think they are famous on social media but have barely any followers, lol.

  • If anyone of you are having trouble installing a razer siren mini onto this arm watch this video.

I didn't know you could take of the bottom of the razer mic as well as parts of the arm itself.

  • managed to find one in store yesterday.
want to update to let ppl know it works with yeti nano - it isnt too heavy for it
You will need to use a clamp tool to unscrew the plastic bit which then reveals the threads on the metal piece for your mic to screw on

  • anyone who bought this can tell me will it fit blue Yeti Nano. If yes, do I need to buy extra screw? many thanks
