  • Referral ?

  • Yeah. It's a referral offer, if you're doing it anyway might as well pickup the 1000 referral incentive.

  • this seems dodgy? . can anyone verify

    • +2

What seems dodgy? I've been with loans.com.au 7 years and they've always had a referral scheme, used to be $400 I think.

      • Great review.
However, this post doesn't mention what is actually required to receive the $1000. What sort of loan?, how much do you need to to borrow?.
Anyway.. I've opened the link and it's for a homeloan settlement. This needs to be more clear in this post.

        • I got the email just now it says settle a home loan. No nitty gritty, no mention of $$ amount required. Can do online or over the phone (mention the code).

          • @Bdawg: Thats interesting, but - discharge fee, settlement fee. you would lose a lot of this cashback. And most importantly, what's the interest rate?.
I see they have updated the post title now but still unclear.

            • @Daisycogs: Their fees are quite low and when I got them they were the lowest available rate. I fixed it for 2 years at 1.87% just expired last month haha.

  • Have to say, when NAB refused a Loan to my son, despite the fact he worked in our Family Business which had banked with NAB for 15+ years, we went to Loans.com.au and they approved and paid the dealer within 3 weeks of the application. Absolutely professional and excellent communicators the whole time. The rate was way better than what NAB was offering anyway. Highly recommend them.

If they did Business Loans or Commercial Property Loans, I would already have moved from NAB. Might get my sons referral code and check to see if they've changed their Policy on 'Commercial Use' properties.

3 weeks? That's not fast. Next day is fast, a week is normal.

It is if you've never had a loan or Credit Card in your life, no Credit Score to speak of, and are employed by your family. NAB took 4 weeks to deny him - despite our history with the bank. I have a credit score of 1044 and couldn't get a loan for a $40k car 'next day' - (profanity) off with your sh!t.

        • Australian financers don't use credit score when they are determining if they will lend to them or not. As your son had not had credit before it would be easier for the financier to determine if they will lend to him or not as his file isn't complex. NAB most likely has guidelines that they don't fund first time borrowers. The major banks also don't care so much for auto loans so they take forever to process them. 3 weeks is crap. I work in the industry so that's how I know. (profanity) off with your sh!t.

    • No change unfortunately, commercial use is still outside policy.

  • I concur. I have been with them for years and haven't had any complaints. Referral on my app says $450, but perhaps it hasn't updated yet. The $1000 offer runs to the end of March 2024

  • Loans.com.au are great. More generous than many other lenders if you have good credit history - they have always passed on the cuts quickly too. The worst thing about loans.com.au is their app and atrocious online banking system. My pay goes in up to 48 hours later than my previous ING account. Pretty terrible if you need to move money quickly.

Must depend on who your work banks with. My pay turns up within a few hours.
It doesn't have Osko, sadly, but other than that my only complaint is that it takes 3-4 clicks to logout of the web site.

3dit: been with them for 10+ years, 3 different loan accounts.

      • To confirm they don't have osko? Can you BPAY directly from your offset account and what is the daily transfer limit?

        Thanks

  • I was with loans.com.au about 12 or so years ago.
They were great. At the time they pegged all rates changes to the rba so I had a fantastic rate when rba was dropping

  • Not a real difference to the bank for loan rates to be honest. They have been moving rates north as fast as RBA increase them. Lack communication, stupid app, confusing accounts naming, account number, hit and miss customer service with multiple staff either not well trained in which case you are transfer around. Use at your own risk.

  • Is the $1,000 on top of whatever cashback is available?

    • Would like to know this also
