Might have compatibility issues with some phone.

Review on Amazon suggestion it doesn't fit the S21 Ultra (so most likely won't fit S22/S23 Ultra).

I've owned this. My anecdote as a casual gamer who doesn't really play games that often, and when I do, I play RPG or strategy games, not FPS.

    Pros:

    • One of the most comfortable controllers, especially for a mobile controller
    • Bluetooth connection is good and stable, latency is minimal

    Cons:

    • It developed stick drift despite not being used that frequently
    • USB-C controller will be better if you require low latency gaming
    • Firmware upgrade no longer works as it requires ancient Android versions, therefore I assume the product is abandoned

I want something like this that will hold an S23U in a rugged case. I don't think it exists though.

    • Most of these type of game controllers requires you to remove the case.

Only option if you want to have the case on, is a Bluetooth controller with a phone holder clip on top (ie. this).

      • Yeah I actually have that exact one and it still wont hold my phone with the case. Granted, it is a chunky bastard case but I'm a tradie and I'm paranoid about smashing phones especially when they cost so much these days. It's a first world problem but the case is a pain to take off and on, it's a two piece jobby.

I've been playing switch games on yuzu emulator lately and it heats the crap out of the phone so I'd probably have to take the case off anyway for that but streaming games at home from a gaming PC via parsec is what I mostly do and that doesn't create much heat at all.

I might have to mod the 8bitdo to extend a little further.

Maybe time to invest in an actual handheld game console (ie Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, etc). I'm personally waiting for the Steam Deck OLED.

          • @RichardL: I have a switch, I'm just fascinated by how well the emulator works to be honest.
