    This guy are sick

  • FF7 & 8 play well on switch?

    • +3

Yeah they do I bought them when they released feels good playing on handheld.

      • I have FF7 on PS5 as a PS4 game but was thinking of getting it on switch

      • +3

Yeah I agree with this. These sorts of games are perfect on handhelds in this day and age. Last time I played FF7 through was on Vita and it worked well.

        • Someone correct me if I'm wrong but both ff7 and ff8 on switch are the PC ports if I remember correctly?
Only minor issues with that if true, but some may prefer the psx originals

Edit; I was wrong, ff7 the music was fixed, haven't checked 8 or 9 but would assume so

    • All three PSX FFs play nicely on Switch, though I noticed a bit of slowdown in FF8 with the 3x speed-up option enabled in some sections (like the missile base mission).

The zodiac age is also on sale.

The ports for 10, 10-2 and 12 are good ports that run well and looks good even in comparison to the PS4 or Xbox ports.

In terms of the PS1 titles, 7, 8 and 9, if all you care about is a hassle free way to play these games, it works well enough. But if you're willing to take the extra step, there are mods on PC that enhance these titles exponentially such as widescreen support, higher-res backgrounds etc. Particularly Moguri Mod for FF9 is a must. Square Enix was pretty lazy for these 'remasters', but I get it if you just want to play them, I finished 7 and 8 on the Switch.

  • FfX is persistently expensive

    • +5

Because it is absolutely worth it.

    • Less than $1 more over FF8 is definitely worth it.

I've bought all of these on og ps2, ps3, ps4 and ps5. I'm not going to buy them again for the switch.

Edited: l've just bought ff7 and ff8 on the switch.

    • Hard copy?

      • Ps1

        • Oh you're right

        • I sold my mint FF7 Hard Copy for $250 the other day on Gumtree. Asking price was $280 but the guy said he only willing to go for $250 which is where we did the deal. I initially paid $50 for it when it was first released so made 5x on it.

You are sitting on a small fortune if your condition are in mint condition

          • @Aerith-Waifu: actually if you put that $50 in the S&P in 1999 you would have made the exact same

            • +1

@aerona: Maybe but what are you going to play on your Playstation 1 for 24 years?

          • +1

@Aerith-Waifu: My cuz has Suikoden II original. I almost bought it for $63 over 10 years ago but thought that was too exxy. Jokes on me.

      • Yep, it came in 3 or 4 discs too.

    • That was quick

    Jail break?

    • +1

FF7-9 all feature a section where you bust out of some sort of jail, so yes.

  • Are they all turn base?

    • Ff 12 isn’t turned based its pretty cool

  • FF9 is amazing with the Moguri mod! Plays like a remake.

  • Ff8 probably the pick of the bunch cos it’s the ‘remaster’. The others are not.

  • Ff9 remastered coming next year. Should I get this normal one on switch?

  • Shin megami tensai nocturne is also on sale door $20.
