I did reddit secret Santa once. I forgot about it and was broke after xmas spending so I ordered them a second hand rugby book for $2 from eBay, after seeing on their reddit posts they like rugby. They took it in good spirits though, haha.

I'm betting they were pissed off though, it's a pretty terrible thing to do to a person.

This is why I don't do secret santas anymore. There are always people who "gift" something they clearly found in a clearance bin at Chemist Warehouse and wind up receiving something from someone who put far more time and/or money in.

I definitely wouldn't join a $100 secret santa unless it was family, in which case hopefully OP would know what to buy them.

      • I got a Rick and Morty printed tee that was too small for me.

  • book.
    wallet.
    purse.
    bottle of wine, whiskey, vodka,…
bag of coffee beans from fav cafe.

  • $100 is a ridiculous amount of money for a secret santa.

  • It depends if you know who you are buying for.

If so, write out what you know about them. Do they have kids, do they read, etc. You can work from that.

If it's going to a random person, probably buy 2-5 unisex things and bundle them. Here is a non-exhaustive list of possibilities:

For an office setting, "classy" gifts: A mix of teas/coffee, a non-gendered small perfume/room spray/fancy soap, A water bottle or Keep cup, Chocolates/Biscuits/lollies, Fancy pen/Stationary, Wine (if you're fairly sure everyone does drink).

If you mostly work with men between 18-65: RC car, Mini drone, Torch, Beer, Tools, Novelty electronics ("useless box").

If you mostly work with women between 18-65: Slippers, Quality moisturizers, Gift certificate for local (legit) massage place.

If they don't love it all, they'll get at least one thing out of it they like.
