    Coles: Was $28, now $10!
    Also Coles: 1/2 Price!

Why do I not trust their mathematical skills?

    • +5

      Quick maffs.

      • +3

        Carry the Tobler 1

You forgot to take the colesine:

      colesine(28.0 / 2) = 10.00

        Known as Coleslaw

      • This thread sure went off on a tangent

    • -4

You realise you are not as smart as you think you are?

They know it’s better than half price. They just use round numbers in the marketing material, and since they are not able to overstate the discount due to consumer law, they choose to understate it.

Whenever you see “1/2 price”, it basically means >= 50% off.

  • +13

$28 lol as if anyone pays that

  • +14

3 out of 3 Cole’s I’ve been to, have never seen the 750gr slabs

    • +4

They were in the small cardboard toblerone stand near meat and bread sections and were not in the chocolate aisle or end cap at 2 stores i saw. If you can do a click and collect, the store should have them somewhere.

      • order cancelled

        • +4

Some staff just dont know where it is so when they cant find it, they mark it as OOS/cancel order even if the store does actually have it somewhere. I asked a staff to find out if they or other stores had it when i couldnt find it and then she went out the back to look and couldnt find it there but another staff member overhead and told us where it was.

          • @8azinga: Got 5 instore, they removed the price tag, used my fly buys credit too.

    • same here in Sydney … wherever I have looked they only display other tonletone products — the shelf space is not empty , so not ‘ sold out’ shady Coles , click bait

    • My store had them last time the deal was on, and yes they were not with the other toblerones in the normal place, they were near the deli with other Christmas chocolate.

    • +1

      I went to 3 stores.

1 had a toblerone display in the choc aisle with all toblerone product except 750g (separate cardboard display, not the regular shelf). No 750g at that store

1 had a toblerone cardboard display at the front, with a section that had a label for 750g, that was empty. No 750g at that store, but signs that they at least had a spot for it.

1 had a pretty well hidden toblerone section at the very back off the store, and it had probably 20 750g available.

They definitely don’t put the 750g on the shelf in the chocolate section. It’s on a separate display somewhere throughout the store, or it’s not there at all.

At all three stores, they had plenty of the 2 for $16 360g. Far more prominent than the 750g. Clearly they wanted to sell people higher profit 360g variety.

  • Anyone know when this ends?

    • -1

Never… And I'm not sure why there's now been 3 posts for an ongoing special? 🤷‍♂️
This past month has more come down to them having stock than it being on special.
But, if it were to drop off of the special's list, it'll be with there change of specials ending Tues night.

      • I saw pricing as two for $24 today at Five Dock. Plenty of stock just inside the entrance door on the left hand side.

  • Was it actually $28 though. And why doesn't it annoy people more when businesses are constantly hustling?

    • +1

Was $20 now $28, quick let’s slap a half price sticker on it so after sale nobody realises.

  • +2

Normal prices have been jacked up so much for many items in supermarkets

  • This is great stocking stuffer and made in Switzerland compared to their made in Slovakia range (not sure of quality difference)

To find this, look for where all the Christmas chocolate/items are

Had so much trouble finding it, not at the regular chocolate or end of aisle spots. Staff can only locate the smaller 375g blocks

Even then it’s not even marked as $10 so potentially some store may clear it out cheaper after Christmas because no one can find them

    • Where are you seeing Made in Slovakia?
Ive bought the 750g and 360g a few times and they all say Made in Switzerland. Also a few people complaining about it not being in stock. I just did click and collect with no issue. They rarely put chocolate this size in the proper section as its too big. Usually a stand near the back or end of aisle.

  • +1

Imagine working for an hour to go and buy this at full price.

  • +5

Be careful who you gift this too. Far too sharp for many.

    • +2

      To put where???

      • People pay huge sums on onlyfans to watch that so i hear.

        • +2

          I'm interested

          • +1

@UrMumsOnlyFan: With just $10 and a webcam you can make thousands of dollars a day!

            • +1

@Loopholio: Yeah, but those oversized Swiss honey chocolate triangles are a lot more fun when ingested orally, fissure…

    • The larger triangles are much safer to handle.

Hmmm had to resist buying a bunch of these when I went through Coles last week - find Toblerone too easy to 'accidently' eat too much of, due to their higher sugar content. The size of the pieces in these would be a portion control nightmare.

My local Coles had these in a weird place as well - chilled meal section, prices weren't marked. I wonder if staff are keeping for themselves?

    • -3

Presumably you prefer chocolate which supports Palestine’s genocide against Israel?

    • Bet you believed safe and effective too

    • No Cadbury, Oreo, Philly cream cheese etc. for you either then either.

At least Toblerone still tasting OK. Cadbury Dairy Milk has been "cheapened" over the years.

  • +2

bought one off my local and will wait till christmas to try to snag more of these for $5 each like I did last year hehehe

  • Managed to pick up 2. Thanks!
Adding to the stocking fillers along with the bargain Sony A9 III.

    • What about the bmw bike?

      • Unfortunately too big for the stocking

        • You need to change your perspective to find a solution.

The stocking is too small. Solution, get a bigger stocking. Merry Christmas :)

          • @jrvb42: Modern problems require modern solution. 😀

    • I tried to buy 2 in the last deal - but they only gave me 1.

      • May have been the last? I was able to buy 2 instore but they only had about 6 left.

      • +1

Go back. Ignore what happened to Oliver.

  • Imagine working for an hour to go and buy this at full price.

    • Maybe working a month if it's disposable income you're speaking of.

    • +4

Imagine having no replies to the first time you posted this, so you post it again 2 hours later! 😉

  • +1

It's taken some effort… But I've finally got that six-pack! I've worked hard towards! 🤣

  • +2

Congratulations on your First Post Wonder badge, OP! Pretty sweet for a deal that’s only 60% sugar

  • +1

For some reason they were $5 at my local Coles so I bought 3

    • Half price!

    • And which Coles is that?

  • Thanks, brought few at my local Coles Brandon Park, VIC

  • Great last minute gift idea

Doubt the deal will still be available last minutes but it's good for those that plan ahead and get presents this early ;)

  • +1

Bit light on the nuts and nougat. Ya kinda notice how poor the chocolate is with this size. Oh well.

    • At least you got the employee discount

      • +1

        And a drink bottle

        • Merry Christmas from your family at Coles

        • customisable bottle, and $5 of points

    • Did you enjoy your $5 water bottle and $5 of points as an employee?

lol, remember seeing the news articles where the coles company christmas present were leaked online. And the communications as well, they cannot have any staff get more than one $5 bottle!

    • -1

Coles silenced you from talking about the Christmas present too (Comment unpublished - Requested by commenter ). That’s harsh.

    Free chocolate extreme edition.
    1. Spend $50 per week for each of 4 weeks at Coles. Get 50k flybuys.
    2. Follow ozb for Toblerone 750g for $10 (50% off $24 apparently).
    3. Don't look for the chocolate in the confectionery aisle. It's obviously in the meat section of the shop. After all, the idea is to entice shoppers with bargains that actually can't be found.
    3. Buy 750g blocks one at a time. Coles have been known to reject multiple purchases anyway.
    4. Total for each transaction is $10, and you'll be offered $10 off for 2k flybuys. Total $0.
    5. Repeat this 5 times (or take 4 other family members).
    6. Result is 3.75kg of Toblerone for $0.

    Thanks OP.

    • You got a flybuys offer for spend $50 for 4 weeks and get 50k points? That's $250 worth of points, I'm skeptical to say the least

      • My bad - 10000 points - hence 5 x $10 off - hence 5 x 750g - hence 3.75kg.
        Thanks for the correction.

        • If you have to hence 3 times you're hencing wrong

  • There's a large stack of these at the Logan Central (4114) Coles. I bought one.

  • +1

A pile at my local in Melbourne but they were incorrectly labelled with a tag saying 2 for $28. I had to load the coles page to confirm to myself the deal was still on, then got a worker to scan it and yes they were $10 for one. Just FYI if they’re mis-labelled anywhere else.

  • -1

    I actually found one.

They are comically huge, going to use this as a passive aggressive gift for Christmas.

Lactose intolerant my ass! Bet they scarf this thing down without blinking.

  • Heaps at Knox City Shopping Centre in VIC

  • Much safer larger triangles. 👍🏻

  • The triangles on these are actually curved at the top. They are not pointy.

When I bought them back in the heatwave, they were a bit melted as well.

750g are in an actual bag. 360g are wrapped in foil.

It's much better when in a separate bag. You can just take out a section with a few triangles, put on a plate, and cut into small pieces with a knife.
