Viva Paper Towel 8 Pack $9 ($1.88/100 Sheets) @ Coles

490

I recently became enlightened to the fact that Viva is the best paper towel. Quality & strength. Handee is mushy by comparison, Tuffy never goes on special any more, and Quilton from Amazon is hit & miss.
And I just learned Viva is made in Oz.

This is a deal at $1.88 per 100 sheets, $1.13 per roll.

While stocks last. No rainchecks.

Agreed. Viva is the king of paper towels. Even better if you can get the variety that has the smaller tear off sheets so you can more easily use less if you want

    • +3

Easy to tear off less from the full sheets anyway.

My parents would strongly agree that Viva is the best. They live and die by their paper towels

    • +12

What a blessed life they live.

    • +4

May the god of viva bless them

      • +3

May their towels be strong, and their paper absorbent 🙏

  • +2

Lifes V Messy. Soak it up with Viva!

  • I agree this is better than the crappy Tuffy which is hard to rip and never gets it right

    • +2

I like Tuffy. Too expensive though

    amazon not yet matching?

    • +4

Amazon is already 1.155 per roll

      • +1

yep will get from amazon instead.

      • +3

        Difference is insignificant.

        • Coles: $1.13/roll, $1.88/100 sheets
        • Amazon: $1.16/roll, $1.93/100 sheets

Will go with Amazon for free delivery.

Will go with Coles so I don’t need to get rid of their oversized boxes

  • A good hacksaw and once split into two all out of toilet paper issues are solved!

    • Haha, a bit rough on the tush maybe!

      • +1

On one of our camping trip we had to do this.
since then cutting such towels has become legendary on every camping trip.

    • +2

Just be aware that paper towels, these Viva ones especially, do not compost or break down readily like toilet paper does. Can royally screw up septic systems.

      • Nothing is worse than them wet afterwipes! Ask any sewage worker!
On camping you learn how to share, use 1/4 sheet dry, next one moist and bury deep. Microbes will return the cycle.
Plenty of idiots out there refusing to read from screens and have whole forests cut down to prove their stupidity! There should be apart from a sugar tax a chlorinated products tax!

Will give Viva a go …. need something that doesn't fall apart when wet as I often use to dry fish or meat before frying.

    • +1

Got to have a nice dry surface for the Maillard reaction to get a nice brown crust on a steak!

  • Woolies is cheaper $1.43 / 100SS for 3 Packs 270 Sheets @ $3.85. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/99245

Don't be tricked by those "select a size" packs! The number of sheets includes the tiny lengths, as far as I understand.

      • +1

90 sheets of select a size is same as 60 sheets regular.

Viva is the best paper towel.

    learn something new everyday!

    • +3

      Kirkland better.

      • +1

Do you happen to recall cost and size for comparison.

        • +1

          A lady never tells

      • I'm also curious, do you have any links or price comparisons?

      • +1

+1 once I tried Costco’s Kirkland brand after a friends strong recommendation, I can’t go back. They’re crazy tough even when soaking wet and I can basically use it like a chux cloth!

Viva used to be my No 1 pick, and I still fall back on it if required.

      • Agreed,

Gf recently bought the bulk no brand roll from bunnings. Never again.

Having an a large amount of viva on hand is a first world excess/luxury i have no guilt in.

    • +1

I never usually kept paper towel in the kitchen but bought a 6-pack of Viva at the height of the pandemic as emergency use tissues, toilet paper, etc. Never ended up needing to deploy them for said emergency and so started using them for their designed purpose.

I've just now used the last roll this week and I've got to admit I'm having trouble adapting back to a Viva-free kitchen.

We have no-name brand paper towels in the kitchen at work but they are next to useless, disintegrate to mush. Not like Viva…
