  • Thanks OP. I was just shopping around for the Versa 3.

Optus phone, is it android phone? (Google Play store access)?

  • Hmm my Fitbit Charge 5 won't turn on since yesterday - could have had it.
Usually comes good but not so far. Good price!

Not sure what the support is like now With Google taking over Fitbit, but used to be easy getting a replacement over the counter from Officeworks. Mines well over 1y old though.

    • go via the Online chat with Fit bit. They will organise it for you. If they spin the rubbish about it being out of warranty, just remind them about the Australian Consumer Guarantee. We did a watch that was 2-3 years old.

I found if you use a fast charger on watches, it kills the device pretty quick

Hi mate nah just took it back to Officeworks, they had a look at the receipt and was within the 2y warranty. Just ended up getting a refund and went to JB hi-fi to get it (price matched target and had a voucher).

I'd still recommend getting from Officeworks they are great to deal with and usually hand you a replacement (they had no stock so couldn't be bothered hunting around for an extra 5% off).

Likewise o just searched the Fitbit 6 and don't think it's worth the extra ($220= ~40% more for almost the same thing).

You may be onto something, perhaps doesn't like the Anker 33W charger, but USB A is USB A. Will just charge off slow PC ports or old adapters I guess. Cheers

        Yeah

Is there still a reason to get a Fitbit over, well, anything else these days?

    • +2

      yes.
(ok I'll bite. Good basic health tracker, HR, steps, Cals, excellent sleep tracker. 6-7 day battery (I'm not interested in smart watches that last a day) and Inexpensive (also aren't interested in spending $600+ on an apple watch or something).

      2nd bite

This price for the Charge 5 is hard to beat. However if buying closer to RRP, the Garmin Forerunner 55 (~$247) is a better fitness watch.

The Forerunner 255 ($449) IMHO is the sweet spot of fitness capability, long battery life and pricing.

      • Yeah agree, you'd be hard pressed to beat the FB charge 5 for this price or anthing under ~$169.
Agree the Garmins are great, recommended the 945 for $500 for my bro and he's more than happy with it.

I wear traditional watches so wanted something minimal for the other arm (whoop would be good but stuff that expensive subscription).

Ps. will take my FB to Officeworks today, apparently 2y warranty now (in line with ACL).

  • Thanks OP.

Weren't looking/wasn't needed, but price matched the Versa 3 with Officeworks for $170 and paid with my flybuys points!
