$11 if you take a quick flight to Ukraine :)

hands down one of the best game ever.

I have tried multiple times to get into this game but so far nothing. Any suggestions?

      • You're not alone. Despite the way the fans talk up these games, they've only got something like 13% competition rates going by steam stats, checking the ending achievement percent against the tutorial achievement percent to narrow it to those who played it after buying. Most RPGs have 25-50% completion. The turn based gameplay and writing don't work for me at all, and I'd rather just play Dragon Age or something again.

      • I find it's hard game to take seriously. It's not gritty and consistent like Game of Thrones or The Witcher universe but more of a whimsical DND campaign. The most fun way to play it is like that, with friends and without taking the world and story too seriously.

The combat gameplay is pretty decent for an RPG but obviously you'll need to like turn based, and I find the combat tactics and difficulty kind of peak mid game. So again, kind of more fun if you don't expect a very deep game mechanically or story wise.

  • Thanks @OP I've been meaning to play this.

For anyone else wondering, I've done a check on ProtonDB, it has a gold rating so should run great on Linux/SteamOS through Lutris with Proton-GE. The PC version also has built-in Xbox controller support, with a dedicated Controller-specific UI, that some even prefer over the mouse and keyboard UI. So looks like this will be my new couch-gaming game. Also means this would run great on SteamDeck, if you're lucky enough to have one, but the UI details might be hard to see on the small screen.

Note, the first game Divinity Original Sin - Enhanced Edition, is also on sale on GOG for 80% off, its less than $10. I chucked it in the cart along with this one.

  • Hi, does anyone know if you can play this on Steam or does it have to be with the GOG manager? Thanks

    • +1

This would be via their GoG Galaxy launcher, yes.

      • Thank you.

        • +1

It's also DRM-free, so once you have it downloaded you don't strictly have to use their launcher if you don't want to. For example, you could add it as a non-Steam game and launch it via Steam and that should work just fine after it's been installed.

You can also install GOG's DRM-free games without Galaxy if you're so inclined: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/how_do_i_download_a_game_w…

          • @MHLoppy: @MHLoppy. That is excellent to know, thank you. I wanted to avoid using another game manager. Brilliant. Cheers.

  • I paid full price for this game and I still think i got value for money.
