Part of Big W's catalogue sale.

Choice's highest-rating bagless barrel vacuum cleaner.
Normally $799 apparently. Most retailers have it for low $600s to $700. Weirdly Shark themselves have it for $350 but is out of stock atm.

Cool features seem to be:

  • Very good cleaning
  • Pet power head and pet multi-tool (small power head)
  • The handle can control turning it on/off + varying the power
  • Has a "Multi-Flex Wand", so can clean under couches/beds without having to get down low

Choice's review is very positive, and Trusted Reviews is also, plus TechRadar is pretty good. Doesn't seem to be too many consumer reviews out there.

A couple of other Shark & Dyson vacuum cleaners are also in the catalogue.

  • This or the Meile C2 Cat and dog for $349 ?

Can't speak for this 'Shark' brand, but I've had my Miele C3 Cat & Dog (Bagged version) for nearly 10 years. I have 3 large shepherds and it's still going strong, but probably should swap over soon.

Highly recommend Miele vacuums, no others have lasted this long (p.s. don't fall for the Dyson marketing)

      • Shark's are well made and robust, we also have a Miele C3 cat and dog, but use the Shark more.

Probably the Shark, it has a real carpet beater, not the old fashioned crappy vacuum roller of the Miele.

Seems like a great deal to be able to suck up the dust so you can happily empty it all over your kitchen

    Miele

  • RRP may be slightly exaggerated by 50% or so ..

  • A minor correction to the OP's assessment that this is Choice Magazine's highest rated barrel vacuum. It is not. That honour goes to the Hoover Regal Bagged Vacuum Cleaner with Deep Cleaning Powerhead 9001PH, rated at 92%. The Shark comes in at #4 at 85%. The Miele C3 comes in at #11 and gets 79%, presumably because they assessed it with the default cleaning head.

Having used Dysons and the Miele C3, as well as the Bosch GL-30, I would never buy a Dyson ball model.

I think the key word is "bagless". Is OP correct that it's the #1 "Bagless" barrel vacuum cleaner?

      • Yeah, that's spot on. I could of been a bit more explicit though.
I was helping my brother choose a new vac & he preferrs bagless. So we went down the list, checking current prices & the top bagless was this deal.

  • bought one of these earlier on in the year. Good unit, although not too great with thick pile carpets. The powerhead is nice but will mark up your skirting boards if you like smashing it into them (I stuck some brush door seal on the sides) if you guys have any other Q's about it, post them
