Otherday offer was only 200 more and brand new why worry about refurb who knows how old will be

    • Date First Available ‎October 1, 2022

13.5 months tops. If it's crap after that time, that it's crap overall and you should return it.

  • +1

Thanks OP! I've been wanting to get this set for a while now. From what i've seen from other people who've bought C grade stuff from Eufy in previous posts, it seems the blemishes are quite minor anyways. Hoping it will be the case for me too!

  • There were 3 of the 2 packs earlier, and the buggers sold out while I was eating Christmas lunch. Oh the humanity.

  • I own 7 s330 of these cameras, (3 due to replacement). Known and widely spread solar panel peeling issues, make sure you have warranty past 6months

    • Peeling? Can you please elaborate?

      • The solar panel film begins to fail and causes peeling, which in turn reduces charging capacity. In Eufy's defence, they do replace it no questions asked if you contact them

    • make sure you have warranty past 6months

      All good here.

This refurbished unit comes with (…) a 12 month warranty.

  • Anyone have these (or other Eufy Cameras) permanently plugged into power? The solar is a bit of a gimmick since finding placement to get enough sun is going to be tricky so I’ll probably try power them in my new place. Conscious I couldn’t leave them charging 24/7 though.

Why bother with battery than. Just get wired system.

      • Will be cheaper too.

      • +1

I was thinking wired for power only, not data too. Wired systems all need to be centrally wired to a hub don’t they for power and data?

Other reason was to keep within Eufy eco system for other things like video doorbell etc and if I want to add other items later on.

Cameras would be spread at each end of the house so was only going to try power them from power source close to each camera.

        • If I read it right, Eufy have a wired for power, wireless for data version of these cameras

          • @smashman42: That listing claims it comes with 1TB storage, then in the pictures there's an open Homebase with a disk pulled out and fine print reading 16GB included.

Just a curiosity, I'd expect it comes with 1TB.

            • +1

@pizzaguy: normally the 3rd gen homebase has the 16GB built in and the expansion slot empty, so I assume it means this "pro kit" comes with a 1TB drive in the expansion slot - their descriptions seem to suffer from a lot of copy/pasta editing errors

      • +2

Wiring the battery version is a no brainer - the battery will kick in when the power is out.

        • Won't help much if you don't have a UPS for the homebase

          • @Jonzay: That's why you have a microSD card inside.

            • @Clear: Very few eufy camera products use a microSD though: https://support.eufy.com/s/article/Storage-Methods-Compatibi…

              • @Jonzay: Sure and a UPS for a Homebase is so dirt cheap and hassle free I'm not sure what the big deal is.

                • @Clear: True, I have two UPS's myself for various things around the house not covered by the house battery backup circuit, but a UPS is not necessarily forefront in people's minds when it comes to consumer level home security.

I'm all for more options - it is a shame that they don't offer failover-to-microSD with writeback to Homebase (+ NAS) upon service restoration

    • I have a spare in my garage which is permenantly plugged in. No issues so far, and the solar panel is not a gimmick in my experience. All of mine have never needed charging whilst outdoors.

Congratulations. If you ever get burgled, I hope that one doorbell camera has all the evidence you need. Bummer if they come by the back.

      • +1

The reason im not that interested in sec camera is, what evidence you will get from some hooded masked men broke in and steel stuff. Also Police does not have time to investigate home bugleries unless there is physical injury to a person.
But power to you if you hv a good home security!

        • +1

Weird. The police totally came to our place when we got burgled and dusted for prints.

Also you may see identifying characteristics of the offenders, the exact items they remove, the way they entered your home and the vehicles they came in.

All of this is valuable info that I personally would want the chance of getting.

        • +3

As someone who works with police regularly I can tell you for sure that police DO investigate and CHARGE home burgleries even if no person was injured and loss of property is not that huge (say below $1000 or only a couple hundred dollars). They may not be able to investigate every incident, but they're much more likely to investigate and put in the time and effort to do it if you've got high quality CCTV footage to show for it.

        • you think this is Murica?

        • Sounds like you have absolutely zero idea what you're talking about but acting as if you do.

There are plenty who live in dodgy areas but there are also some who live in nicer areas and just live in fear of the world around them. They tend to watch sky news, etc

    • +2

Multiple cameras are more for people with large lands, 4 is probably overkill for these modern cookie cutter houses clumped so tightly together.

My property is 6.8 acres. I have one camera at front door, one for tool shed at the side of house, one for the driveway on the other side of house and fourth one facing gazebo and swimming pool in backyard, and I actually need more for rest of the land further back on the property.

And what do you do if someone trespasses or whatever? Give it to the police? They'd laugh at you and tell you to get a higher fence. Anyone robbing you will be masked and unidentifiable.

If anything these cameras just make you a target. Robbers will see a secced up property and think it must be something valuable inside. Or they'll just steal the camera.

        • Sadly true. Excellent comment.

        • The camera will alert you via mobile of motion so you can then deter them with some big arse flood lights

    • This guy would have no idea when his house is being cleaned out or his shed is being rummaged through.

We used the footage from 2 cameras to confirm the guy who stole a car from our house when he got nabbed.

    • send address pls

    • Crap comment! (*nothing personal…..)

  • 4k all day

    • This one is 4K, isn't it?

      • Should be I have 3c

  • Can you set up notifications when your camera picks up movement? Say for a hallway camera?

Be easy to call my neighbour after I call the police!

    • Yes, you can even speak with the camera

  • Oos now

  • I was able to purchase this. The cameras connect to Homebase, but they are unable to live stream at rather short distances (e.g. ~10 steps away from Homebase through one glass window, Homebase directly visible through window). Speedtest at that position is >500mbps. I have no idea how people are installing these. I will be returning them.

  • Hello guys, just wondering why it is way cheaper on the Aliexpress official eufy store!

    • I cant even find it. Do you have a link? Thanks.
