Good price on these. However I can highly recommend the TP-Link XE75 Wifie 6E 3 pack from GG commercial for $500. Just moved to them from an Orbi RBK53 setup previously. So much better. I have a 5 bedroom 2 story house and the entire house is blanketed. I get 900Mbps down upstairs at the opposite end of the house from where the main router is. That’s using the 6Ghz band as wireless backhaul too. And the best part is the fast switching between nodes. With my Orbi setup devices would get stuck on nodes, even with fast switching enabled. Not saying that these newer Orbi aren’t better or improved, just that the need to spend this likely isn’t there for many people. The XE75s are normally about $800, but GG commercial is the best place to get them.

    • I was looking at these but i want to buy from amazon for the easy returns incase i come across any issues.
Ive been using rbk50 for a long time but 90% of my devices are 6ghz so i want an upgrade.
I was looking at a newer orbi but cant fathom the price for wifi 6 when 6e in other brands are hell of a lot cheaper. Doesnt make sense.
If the tp link 2 pack goes on sale same price as tgg commercial ill prob jump on it.

      • They are pricey because they actualky work and netgear is a well known trusted brand.

Wifi 6 is fine fir now and the bext few years, wifi 7 is not far off, hold for that if you need bleeding edge tech..

  • Been having issues with my Orbi 750 kit for a year. Wired works fine but Wifi is very unreliable. Spent dozen hours troubleshooting every setting, firmware option, and configuration. Not happy with this brand next time I'm going Unifi.

    • That is not a common issue for these orbis. They gave extremely reliable wifi and strong signal. Not sure why you have issues.. local environmental reasons in your house. Odd.

      • Definitely not the environment, I upgraded from a cheap ISP wifi router which was flawless, just upgraded for Wifi 6 and certain networking features. And the forums I've read are plagued with these issues.

        • Plagued.. hmm. not ever heard of myself.

I reckon you got a dud kit.

Goto the netgear site and download the latest FW manually and try..

          • @CauseNEffect: Becomes apparent when you start researching solutions to the issue.

Yeah pretty sure it's a dud kit, Issues exist across multiple devices from different manufacturers. Been meaning to go through warranty process soon.

Done everything for it: Old and New firmware versions (manually updated), relocated device, adjusted power settings, 2.4/5ghz settings, frequencies, bandwidth options, disabling different features.

            • @AustralianCyber: Sounds like dud kit. My orbi is rock solid, fantastic performance and has the best signal coverage out of the routers ive had by a significant margin.

Test yours at another location if you can. Work, friends, family etc.. that rules out your environment entirely which should speed up the warranty process.

Why on earth would anyone pay this much for old tech?

  • Anyone know where you can get individual Orbi units?

I have two, but need a third to extend coverage.

PS in my experience they work well - seamless handoff between stations. Although they are pricey, and the app constantly bugs you to add subscription services.

    • Try from netgear distributors directly or FB marketplace / gumtree.
