How do we compare it with Samsung Q990C? It costs around 1100 bucks, less than half price of Sen Max!!
I had the Q900, I found it quite bad for music, quite bad for dialogue, average at producing stereo, lacked any oomph and depth, and atmos relied heavily on the size of your room - a tiny room worked much better than my large open living area which it was terrible at. Overall I delegated it to the garage, and moved stereo speakers to the living room TV. TV room still has 5.1 system, but I would actually swap to this Sennheiser max to save space/cables.
I find most soundbars with tiny speakers and narrow enclosures are severely limited from the get go, they can do some movies well, like marvel etc, but fail at most complex things like dramas, dialogue, music, stereo imaging. The Sennheiser changed my mind, it is much bigger though.
Gold standards:
Sound Bar/sound system: Yamaha
SSD: Samsung
Camera: Sony
You cannot compare it with Semsang or Sony. It is far superior than those phone/TV and camera/TV makers.
You can compare it with Yamaha. It is the only brand can be better than Yamaha in some instance.
Still talking in absolutes?
Quality is variable. Brand-loyalty is for fools.

Tested the max, honestly the only soundbar I would consider buying. Absolutely amazing for being just a single box and producing great imaging and realistic stereo due to its size. Music also sounds great compared to standard soundbars with tiny speakers. No need for a sub either imo
