I found that deal for Charge 5 at a really low price with local stock and warranty https://www.accessories.optus.com.au/c/fitbit-deal

I wouldn't buy a fitbit, the failure rate is so high with them. I bought a charge 3 and it failed 2 times during warranty period, also bought a charge 5 and it also failed within warranty period. I moved away from fitbit after i couldn't get it replaced anymore within warranty period and went with a Xiaomi band 8 instead and its awesome.

    • Completely agree. Went through more of the Fitbit Charge 1 and 2 than I've had hot dinners. Bubbling of the watch bands. Fitbit were trash to deal with trying to convince me that each subsequent failure fell under the original warranty of the first item I had bought a year before. Never again.

    • Adding to this thread. I had a charge 3. It failed just outside the warranty and they wanted nothing to do with it. I asked if I could pay them to fix it, and they said no. I mostly used it to record sleep so it wasn’t being exposed to anything strenuous.

I have stayed away from Fitbit ever since. Now using Apple Watch Ultra.

Just beware that Google Pay on this particular device does not work for many cards. I have Amex and Westpac CCs, and uBank, ING and CBA debit cards all working fine on my Google Pixel 7, but none of them will install to the Charge 6.

I've raised a support ticket and it went nowhere (Fitbit use an overseas contact centre with the not uncommon low level of staff support, enthusiasm and expertise).

Here's Fitibit's current listing of supported cards: https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/technology/google-apps/bank…

    • Wow this is a big turnoff! I am thinking of buying a fitbit (for the first time ever) … so how did you deal with payments on fitbit?

      • +1

Sadly I've given up for now. I had a support thread where I asked them why Google Wallet compatible cards wouldn't work on the Charge 6. They escalated it (via chat). I received a couple of emails after a week promising they were looking into it, and then they just stopped. a Follow up email from me got no reply.

So I'm either going to return it (as it was a big reason for getting it) or I have to wait till my current banks and cards somehow sort something out with Fitbit (as I assume that's the issue).

  • Has anyone that bought this had it ship yet? Mine is saying "We will email you when we have an estimated delivery date"

    • Still waiting for it to ship :-(

  • +2

I'm not sure its shipped for anyone. The deal is now over.

I've ended up cancelling and ordering AU stock from MyDeal (https://www.mydeal.com.au/fitbit-charge-6-fitness-tracker-ob…) for $209 using the $10 sign-up discount.

    • Thanks! Cancelled my order and bought it from there.
