150

Noticed that Bunning is price beating the Aldi special buy coming up. Previously was $98.90. Again probably not the best quality but good price for a 30m hose reel.

  • I bought this brand ( 20m version) , but had to return because there was always a smell on the hose. Dont think it was a new hose smell. Returned it yesterday and bought Holman. Not sure if Holman is any better as I m yet to open that.

Dunno about the smell but my previous Holman lasted maybe 2-3 years before the spring broke. Pulled it apart to have a look and the inside was a pile of rust. Never again.

      Holman is rubbish

  • +9

Looks like it would last 1 aussie summer before it disintegrates into powder

  • +3

Looks like it comes pre-faded already.

    Hos wars have become

  • It took me 20 years after moving out of home starting out as a poor student to learn…. it is a false economy to buy cheap hoses. Life is too short for the repeated deterioration, splits, kinks and leaks

  • pay abit more and buy a gardena

    • Is this whats meant to be the good brand? Everything I see seems to be recommending hoselink, but I'm not sure if thats just all marketting. Currently in the market looking to buy an auto hose reel

      • I bought a hoselink couple years ago. In-laws bought us a holeman for other side of the house maybe a year ago. There is a big difference in quality. The nozzle for the holeman broke after 3 months. Have had to open up and repair it 3 times. Same problem of connection popping off inside the unit. Can’t believe they’re allowed to sell this stuff. Not even a single issue with the hoselink

      • If you're buying anything to do with hoses, sprinklers, taps etc. from bunnings, gardena is the pick of the bunch and comes with a 5 year warranty in most cases. try and pay a bit more as water leaks are annoying and costly

  • I bought a garden basics hose. It turned black in sections after a few months and leaked like a sieve. Never again

  • Don't get these cheap retractable hose reels, they don't last long.

The best consumer grade one that actually lasts is hozelock from my experience, their not cheap but they go on sale every now and then.

  • I’m in the market for a retractable hose reel myself , does anyone have any experience with https://www.aussiehoses.com.au/?

    • the 30m hose is more expensive than Hoselink, think I'd rather stick to that
