    How big is too big?

Probably want to pay a professional to mount this thing. I'd definitely wouldn't want to screw it up.

I'm going to attempt the 85 inch. I'm scared

        I did a 75 with some help, wasn't too bad. 85 sounds doable. I wouldn't want to do a 98 though.

85” is pretty easy, wife and I mounted ours. Its pretty light at 40kg (compared to plasmas and older LEDs). The 98” at 57kg is on the heavier side, but still two people should be able to manage it, as 28.5kg a person isn't all that heavy to handle. I had a 50” plasma that weighed 50kg+, I’ve mounted and unmounted that with a help of a friend 10 years ago.

    • did my samsung QN90A 98 myself, wasnt too hard to be honest as long as you got someone else thats quite strong to help lift.

However depends on what type of wall mount you end up using.

I went with one thats not so flush so i can easily access the ports and it worked out better for me cos i wasnt running cables behind the wall like some people do

      • Was debating getting one with a bigger gap this time because the 25mm gap with the last 70 inch was a pain.

        Got another 25mm one 😂

    • Fitted my 98 the other day no issue. Just need 2/3 strong people.

  • Oh wow! This is as big as my projector screen

    • You have a small screen then ..anything less than 120 inch screen makes projection worthless. But wow these tellys are getting there .. 98 inch Mini Led at this price is awesome. Once it reaches the 130 inch for a similiar price I shall ditch my projector and my screen for sure

Just a heads up, the 85” and 98” models are not as bright as 75” and smaller models, and the 85” model also has a matte screen finish unlike the 75” and smaller models, the matte screen may be better at fighting glare, but I think it takes away a bit of vibrance. I haven’t seen the 98” in person, therefore can’t don’t know if that has the same finish as well, but because the 98" is also dimmer just like the 85” I suspect it may have the same finish as well. As for the brightness, look at TCL website, 75” and smaller models have a brightness value of 800 nits, but the 85” and 98” have 500 and 550. I’m guessing that’s the SDR brightness, but HDR brightness is also noticeably less when compared side by side.

If you don't believe me, go to a store that has the 85" and a smaller model on display and see for yourself. I don't know why TCL is making the larger models significantly different to the smaller ones, but something worth keeping in mind when considering this model, especially because pretty much all the professional reviews of this TV (both local and EU reviews) are based on the smaller and brighter smaller 65" and 75" models, which are IMHO NOT a representation of the larger model.

Having said that, I find my 85" C845 bright enough, although I do have to crank up the brightness all the way to 100% when watching it at day time with blinds and curtains open.

    • That's incredibly disappointing

    • I don't know why TCL is making the larger models significantly different to the smaller ones…

      EU power consumption laws

Mini LED at large screen sizes uses massive amounts of power

Unlike Hisense who send garbage B tier models to Australia, TCL send the full EU models here

    • That’s odd, my 85” c835 is retina melting at full tilt. 50 brightness max for pleasing level, 60 when light is pouring through the windows.

Unfortunately TCL dudded the Australian public by not bringing the QM8 out here this year which is an astonishing TV for the price and their US flagship. Vincents review of this tv (HDV test) showed some positives but also that they havent got the black levels right. I'd pass.

This will do great for a triple monitor setup
