Thanks for the reminder. Time to crack open a lunchtime can.

    Does it have a leaderboard?

    Just a few health points:
    * If you have an alcohol dependence, abruptly stopping can be dangerous as the withdrawals can results in delirium tremens (life threatening confusion, tremors and seizures). This typically occurs on day 2-3 of abstinence. Mortality is about 25% and needs treatment in a hospital setting. Please see your GP if are looking at stopping alcohol consumption if you have an alcohol dependency for a safe quitting plan.
    * The national guidelines (NHMRC) recommend safe limits of alcohol is no more than 10 standard drinks per week and no more than 4 standard alcoholic drinks per day.

nope….BWS/Shopback deal tracked so i will be picking up my order

    If I don't drink - don't need the app.

If I drink - no chance in hell I remember to use the app.

  • How sad that we live in an age where everything needs to be “gamified”. My hypothesis is that the population must be getting weaker willed, needing more external motivators because they’re lacking the ability to generate their own internal motivation.

    • +10

That's a hypothesis from the 90's that was proven looooong ago.

Don't believe me? You can track it in my app…

How to manage your lifetime alcohol use , and I’m preaching .
Take a good look in the mirror bro .

            • -2

@beach bum: now see this is where ozbargainers like yourself crack me up.

Alcohol is a poison , that does cumulative damage whether you notice it or not .

I came in here to see if this could be useful for a night on the town and keep track of how many drinks Ive had so I know if I shouldnt drive or not.

Then i read the description and see:

Whether you're committed to cutting back or maintaining a sober lifestyle

Then i see if anyone here commented on how they could justify $129 for this type of app, and low and behold I see your preching comment.

Moderation People . Try a Social Occasion without it , you can do it .

on new years eve of all times yountell people to try to not drink 'at all'…

lol.. mate.. then you double down on it and ask me to

take a look in the mirror.

prey tell.. do tell me how that relates to my comment here and why you feel that telling people 'alcohol is a poison' is helpful to anyone.

              Bud.. dose is the poison.

@FredAstair: I’m sorry I obviously criticised your beliefs , let’s just say everything in moderation ,and leave it at that .

Remember to drink some water sometime aswell

                Happy New Years !!

Just try not to drive through the front of someone’s house .
Shit the bed and/or drown in your own vomit .

                Otherwise enjoy .

If you need an app to keep track on the number of drinks you have had in a session, I can say with confidence you shouldn’t be driving.

@FredAstair: even if cutting back on grog was his religious belief he has a right to express it anyway

            • -1

@CommuterPolluter: Im sorry you mistood my use of the words 'belief' and 'preaching' to mean 'religious'.

From my understandings these words can be used outside of religion.

I am aware that some religions may have such anti alcohol beliefs. I believe JW to be one of these, but I never assumed this person was any particular religious faith tbh.

even if cutting back on grog was his religious belief he has a right to express it anyway

cutting back on alcohol use is not something im against here. Making it out to be evil (again..nkt religious based use of a word) by calling it poison is where many would draw the line.

Ironically calling it poison would mean that during Christian something somethings given people a wafer and a sip of wine could thus be twisted to being giving people poison by this same construct.

I get it. Trust me.. Many people drink more alcohol than they should health wise, but its like telling an angry person to 'just calk down'.

It is neither effective or helpful.

I hope this clarifies this better for you.

              • @FredAstair: I think the reference to poison may have come from these two facts:
                - Ethanol is a carcinogen, ie causes cancer
                - The body breaks down ethanol into acetaldehyde which is highly toxic

                  @kbzj: Thank you Captain Obvious…

I am really surprised that I am still needing to correct people on this discussion here, which should be more common sense than what is being displayed here by the looks of it:

I'll let Paracelsus explain it better here for you:

“What is there that is not poison? All things are poison and nothing is without poison. Solely the dose determines that a thing is not a poison.

This principle implies that any substance, including those that might be considered toxic, can be harmless or even beneficial at low doses, while at higher doses, it can become harmful or toxic.

The toxicity of a substance is, therefore, not solely determined by its inherent properties but also by the amount or concentration to which an organism is exposed.

This principle is widely recognized in modern toxicology and is a fundamental concept in assessing the potential risks and safety of various substances, including drugs, chemicals, and environmental pollutants.

It underscores the importance of understanding dose-response relationships and establishing safe exposure limits for substances to protect human and environmental health.

      but do boast on ozbargains..

  • +1

I only had two drinks since January. When I was going through some personal stuff with my problem with my last employer & other issues, I found drinking didn't help things. So I stop drinking alone now. The only times I've had a drink since was in social gatherings & even then, it was a single beer (which I don't drink quickly anyway).

  • +3

The features of this app very limited, they need to support more substances, so you could visualize not only drinks, but also ciggies, joints, coke, acid, ice and everything.
