    Tahiti would be nice…

Oh wow. I haven’t seen this stuff since the early 90s

Yeah my mum bought this when I was a kid. Smelt horrible. Didn’t know it still existed, these days most people use liquid soap. I use a soap bar but more natural (hand made by people at the local farmers markets).

I liked how the soap didn't shrink under the sticker.

It was like a little guest soap you'd get at a hotel.

    • +3

this was 'soap you had to use when you stayed over at grandma's house' soap

    • and until recently it smelt exactly the same!

I think they were cheap back then, that's what my mum bought too and we were probably the poorest people in the country. Nowadays seems like most people use liquid soap.

Is this 1 soap bar or 6 soap bars wrapped together for 2.99?

    • Its the latter methinks.

      • +25

        The imperial latter.

Dang, somebody would think "Soap Bar, 6x100g $2.99" is clear enough.

        • +6

I look forward to working up an Imperial Lather.

    Don’t drop the soap…

      soap on a rope!

Cheaper than the 8 pack of generic bar soap at WW at this price.

For those who don’t like soap bars leaving a moisturiser feel after using, these are what you’re after.

Good price. I kinda feel we've all been scammed to pay more for big plastic bottles of expensive liquid soap when this stuff lasts for ages and is fine.

    • +4

As a fellow tight-ass I agree. To be honest liquid soap must be mostly water. In an era of sustainability and excess packaging, liquid soap just seems like some smart marketing to get us to part with more $$$ for the same wash?

      • +3

My plumber advised that liquid soaps were responsible for a lot of hand basin gunk blockages. Seems we use too much and it never gets rinsed away properly

Bring back the Imperial Leather powder!!!!!

This stuff is good. I've tried lots of shower gel / liquid soaps and they all give me a skin rash, have been using Imperial Leather for over a year now and don't have this problem.

    Cheap too.

Cussons Oatmeal soap is also a good one if you like a spicy cinnamon scent.

It is good to see old brands are still available. Personally, I am a soap purist / minimalist. I use Sunlight Laundry Soap. It is the most effective at cleansing my face and back of acne causing lipids.

It is hard to find products now for oily skin. Almost everything is for dry skin.
