First time poster. Not sure if this is a good deal. I’m looking for a laptop with a good graphics card, is this worth it?

Nope. At this price get at least rtx 4050.

    • Can you recommend any good deals for one with 4050? Thanks.

Just use the search box on this site and search for 'laptop'. Look for ones around your budget. Eg. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/tag/gaming-laptop

You might have to wait till a good deal that meets your requirements to come up tho.

Hey mate. You have been on OzB since 2019, you should know this is not how it works. You should only be posting genuine deals, not asking a question. You even say "Not sure if this is a good deal"

OzB does have a forum tho, try there ;)

    • Recommend some or even one for us at this price.

    • Or use this website to find a list of active tech deals.

Poor deal. This is getting into 4060 territory which is vastly better for gaming.

    • +1

Yeah $1288 from Binglee a while ago for the Nitro 5 4060 deal, this one even with 11th gen CPU and DDR4 ram at $1.1k is a ripoff!

      • +1

yes i got the binglee deal happy so far .

  • +1

It's a good for now deal. I don't see any 4060s currently if you can't wait

    • ips screen, 16gb ram , 512 ssd, and an extra expansion slot, ticks a lot of the boxes, im not a gamer on laptops, have desktops for that for that, for me only downside is it’s 11th gen cpu as i run office and visio a lot. had an 8th gen with graphics chip, found reduced battery life and fan would run more often.

      • Is this a 3 year old laptop though? 11th gen is ancient

      • But after went thru some reddit reviews, lots having wifi issue with the sh|t card it using … unless specific for OS model

    Put this question in forums

  • +4

Put on the description the CPU as i7-11800H so people have an idea of the manufacturer year (Date First Available: 13 August 2021)

  • +1

Not even close to a deal. Very overpriced.

    • +1

maybe $799 then will get instant ozbargained

    • -4

Not quite sure why you state "Very overpriced" as if you do a simple search within OzB for RTX3050Ti you'll notice similar deals with i7 16GB RAM 512GB yet cost $100's more.
Sure it's 11th gen CPU but that's why it's so much cheaper than other laptops.
If this is "Not even close to a deal" can you find many cheaper laptops on OzB with a "i7 16/512GB RTX3050Ti"??

      • +2

Both the GPU and the CPU are 3 years old, it's ddr 4 and the display is very cheap. Your similar deals argument is void.

If you want to spend $1000 on a 3 year old under powered and over priced laptop, go for it.

Don't get angry because you don't agree with my opinion.

        • -1

Don't worry your opinion won't make me angry,
BTW I haven't heard that "Oh Snap" comeback since I was in primary school!!

  • Should have posted on the forum. No, a 3050 laptop would struggle a lot with modern games due to the limited VRAM and weaker configs.

You'd probably wanna look into the newer 4050/4060 laptop as they have dipped to this price range before. Hell even my 1 year-old Acer Nitro 5 with similar configs but with a 3060 was this price last year and then dropped to $999 in Dec last year.

  • Yellow keys look cool 👍

  • 2021 tuf….lets not even go there.

1.1k for a 3050ti you might as well hand over your ozb license

It's not very nice to post this as a deal then write that you're not sure it's a good deal. Please use the forum if you want to ask a question about what to buy.

  • If you are not sure, probably not a deal
