    From the feedback:

Of 40 PCs Internal resistance 12.5-13m at 30 PCs. M 18-18.5m-10 PCs. Used to be 13-15m. Capacity of course does not reach 4200-4500 mAh.

Still, way better than average fakes. But not as cheap as taken for free from old laptops.

      Do tell me more :-)

Default laptop batteries until the slim laptops of 4+ gen roughly had a pack of 18650 batteries, and usually the battery indicates need of replacement when just one element is dead. While there may be 3-8 elements in total. Which you can take and reuse. Warning: skills required. And overcharged battery can blow up. Do it on your own risk.

Is this the case for all salvaged 18650's or batteries of these nature, in general?

I think I ripped out a 18650 from a few cheap chinese powerbanks and repurposed them for random older torches I don't use at all anymore but like to keep reasonably charged incase I want to show them off.. 😅

I'm assuming ripping off like 8 elements which are all soldered together may diaable some of the precautionary measures or something? Hence the overcharging comment?

          Little worried now..

@WasBargain: If you rip off cheap chinese stuff the batteries can be fake and have sand inside lol.
In general, they are safe if you don't let them get shorted on each other or something else. New Li-Ion packs are more vulnerable to just stick through and cause fire if were charged. But 18650 and 21700 are hard to damage.

  • Just for new Aliexpress accounts?

I can atest to this stores 2 month estimated delivery time. Ordered batteries in November and still in transit… my last ever purchase on AliExpress. Site is full of scammers and fake items. All a lottery now.

eBay has really cleaned up it's act nowadays and cracks down much faster on crooks and fakes. AliExpress just encourages them, and when you go to make a claim, it will sit there for ages and lucky if you get your money back.

Taobao is much better, cheaper, faster and more secure site to buy on.

So because individual batteries that technically shouldn't be shipped by air is being shipped by sea makes them scammers? Ridiculous. If you want fast delivery order something with a Choice banner (fulfilled by AliExpress) with a 2 week delivery guarantee. Coupon if delivery exceeds 2 weeks and refund after 30 days.

I find eBay to be worst than Aliexpress.

Got scammed on eBay for purchasing a faulty used phone. Thought it was just a worn out battery but turned out to be a faulty motherblard with a constant power draw.

Paid by credit card and after the 30 day money back guarrantee passed, eBay did not help at all ending with the scammer seller keeping his money.

Aliexpress disputes have never lost me money has been more safe than eBay.

      • Mistake was made in using a credit card in trusting eBay to be safe. Always use PayPal, and eBay customer support is useless. Seller was unresponsive, after multiple contacts with eBay support the scammer had replied to only eBay support saying that damaged had likely been caused by me, eBay then said to me I was out of luck cause 30 days had passed which is hilarious considering the seller had delibaretly been unresponsive to me. eBay support did not even follow up on me and took their word.

Always use PayPal, and remember eBay isn't what it used to be. Amazon has far better support.

        • Chargeback with your credit card company would have been an option.

          • @Clear: edit: I paid by debit card. not sure if chargeback is still doable as i threw the phone away to mobilemuster
