Happy new year everyone! This is a bit of a niche bargain. As a long time OzBargainer myself, I can't help but post my own SaaS product's launch and create a deal for fellow OzBargainers.

Rizz.farm is an AI-assisted lead generation tool built for Reddit (and beyond). I won't bore you with all the details here, if you're interested please take a look at the website. Would love to hear your feedback. Cheers!

Had a read of your website and want to know more. What industries would this suit? I generate leads for digital marketing agencies and wanted to know how this would tie in with your service.

    Cheers

I'm starting a digital marketing agency and need leads. Haven't started advertising yet, got a few clients from word of mouth, but I am interested in at least learning about how you generate leads for digital marketing agencies, and would likely be open to engaging with your services if you're interested.

Hi! Rizz.farm is industry agnostic - as long as you think some of your potential target audience is on Reddit. :)

  • Do you dogfood it?

    • Hi, yep I sure do. As a matter of fact, I built Rizz.farm because I built Persumi.com first, and needed a good way to market it and couldn't find anything. :)

Going to use this to spread anti-weeb propaganda.

      It's not propaganda if it's true…

Missed an important detail - the price.

    Solo: $49/month - 6 months at 50% off: $147, was $294
    Growth: $199/month - 6 months at 50% off: $597, was $1194
    Scale: $499/month - 6 months at 50% off: $1497, was $2994

    What's your ABN?

    Bold pitch

    • May I know how do you use Reddit? Just reading and asking assistance over specific channel via Reddit?

      Still learning here. Thanks

Sure, but I mean, if we look at things this way, most tech products are built on the shoulders of giants. Commercial value really comes down to the execution and final product imo.

This seems like a spam bot with extra steps.

    • Spamming subreddits will most likely get you banned. Which is why this tool will NOT auto-post anything without your review/input.

This is no different than both real users and spammers can post on Reddit imo.

Great, now my searches on reddit can be as useless as the ones on Google these days.

    • -2

I understand your concern, and I really it won't be.

Low quality content will be downvoted, and spammy content will be banned on Reddit. I have multiple instructions/reminders in the app to let people know that it's important to post helpful content only.

From what I can tell by looking at the site, your product is just advertising masqueraded as replies from a real person. People used to be able to reach out to communities on the internet and find advice and recommendations on things with a certain level of validity and substance but now I'm afraid that over time it's all just going to be bots pushing their own agenda or products. Sad really.

        • masqueraded as replies from a real person

Depending on how you see it. The product will help you draft up the response, but it's still up to the user to edit before posting it. I've been using it myself, and a lot of the time I do make some adjustments. At the end of the day I as the user am in control of (and am responsible for) the outgoing message.

            @fredwu:

and a lot of the time I do make some adjustments.

So, not all of the time? It sounds like you're happy to facilitate your userbase spewing out biased, AI tool assisted, garbage replies all over reddit (and likely expand onto other platforms). As long as you get paid I guess. Bit of a cash grab with no regard for anyone or anything else.

Personally, I think it's akin to pollution.

At the end of the day I as the user am in control of (and am responsible for) the outgoing message.

Push the blame onto your customers… You're still contributing to the problem.

The issue with this sort of thing is that your tool basically enables users with low technical skill levels to effectively produce large numbers of Reddit accounts and use them to shill or sockpuppet their own brands. If I went to a forum to ask what product or service I should buy to solve my problem, I'd expect replies from actual human beings and not bot accounts that were setup specifically to shill a specific brand.

Low quality content will be downvoted, and spammy content will be banned on Reddit.

But your sales pitch is that your AI generates a fictional story that sounds convincing enough that it can be perceived as a real product review or customer feedback, which you call 'lead generation'. This is a clear breach of the ACL and is illegal.

        According to the ACCC

Reviews should be independent and reflect the genuine opinion of the person who experienced the product or service.

It’s against the law for a business to:

        Create fake or misleading reviews
arrange for others to create fake or misleading reviews.

Community moderation is usually done by real humans, which sometimes requires many hours of manual labour. The problem is that most people aren't skilled enough to recognize or detect AI Bot accounts and you are essentially asking people to do extra work of getting rid of potentially problematic content that your tool creates.

Well at least I can see why Reddit has gone downhill lately

    • Exactly. Nowadays, it's full of bots reposting the same shitty 'content' and copying-pasting other peoples' comments.

As long as I can "Elevate" myself "As a business owner" "In a digital world" to "Enhance my online presence" in "Today's fast-paced landscape"!

Thanks everyone who has taken the time to comment. Obviously I didn't expect the sentiment to be this negative, but it's better now than later. Just wanted to say that I hear you loud and clear, and I'll keep working on the landing page and the product to make them better.

From my perspective, it's all about intentions. A sharp knife in the kitchen doesn't mean everyone's out to murder people. Rizz.farm was born out of my own need to scale the way I help people, it obviously isn't intended to be used as spam, or to spread misinformation.

I know I won't convince everyone on this, but 'll keep working on it. Thanks all!

    • exactly, in digital world if a tool can be misused, it 100% will be :-(

    • +1

A sharp knife in the kitchen doesn't mean everyone's out to murder people.

Except this situation is nothing like that. It's more like you're walking around offering sharp knives to people on the street with no background or age checks and saying "now don't you misuse that haha".
