What will happen if they find out?

Its fraud, so cancel your members with no refund, and most likely ban you.

    • Right. I shouldn't do it then

No no, you should definitely tell them you're a police officer

At least there's a free gym in goal and with plenty of time to use it.

  • You can try to process payment to see how it went. But I am member of that Fitness program provided by my work (Gov agency) joined Years ago, and I remembered they need HR/Payroll authorization. So after initial sign-up there was a wait until my account got active then I could use it.

    • Oh right.
Gov agency is always better than private…
It's $15.99 for me but when I tried with Gov agency, it was $15.29 with more gym accesses.

You're considering committing fraud for a $0.70/wk saving? I thought you were talking like a $4/wk saving.

        • Haha man just wanted to use goodlife too.
But yeah i know it's just a silly question lol
Have you done fitness passport mate? Just wanted to know how good it is or bad it is

Dupe account posting for fraud related purposes. Righto.

  • Just signup at each gym that has a free trial.

  • You cannot continue past that point. They will contact your organisation's contact point for FP and will verify your employment. If you're not on the list then no-go.

    • Right.
      Overall, do you like FP?

      • Definitely depends on the facilities associated with your employer. You can only justify the price paid if you visit >2 times a week. The flexibility is great though, especially if you wish to visit different facilities with different expertise (e.g. one aquatic centre and one gym).

This is only a step away from also painting your car like an emergency vehicle to get benefits, like this guy: https://i.stuff.co.nz/world/australia/97989047/teenage-boy-a…

Any OzBargainers late to the party, check the post's revisions and read the original post. Good for a giggle.

  • The gyms you can use (location, Brand) depends on the deal your Employer has negotiated.

  • It's legit, you are not a member at those locations but only granted access. Some locations do not allow after hours/unstaffed access or access to classes. Depends on which company or state as well. State entities are usually restricted to access only facilities within that state… etc

  • We have the same fitness passport in our workplace. It is legit. But I myself think it would be useful if you need to travel alot and need to go to the gym everyday. Most people would normally has a home gym and may just try out a few others only when needed.

We have had it for around 3-4 years (family of 5). Works well for us (loads of pools and gyms included)

  • I have used it for over a year as a family package.
No issues so far - any gym/swimming pool that supports it allow you in.
Swimming pools even give you the top package - not just the pool but the sauna as well (which is usually extra)

The question being asked here has changed significantly from the original version creating some confusion with earlier responses.
I have used FP but given the OP's original intentions won't be sharing any info.

  • Some gyms also require you to buy a access pass $50 - $70 which is non refundable to use their gym on the list, and you still need to buy it even for access during business hours.

  • From the original post, it would probably be safer if you knew someone in the public sector and signed up using the family option pretending you're their partner

  • Fitness Passport is awesome. If your not eligible unlucky.

It can be good but in Qld every gym I have tried to enter wants you to pay a access key or admin fee once off to get in. Ranging from $30 - $80 so far. Very very annoying when I first got it and was hoping to travel and use different gyms. Couldn't use any as paying $30+ for a single visit was stupid

  • As with any membership please read the fine print. I didnt and was in an area with not many gyms for a set period of time. Tried to cancel and no luck. I lived in Burwood at the time and there were plenty of gyms around but none with fitness passport access other than 10-15 min drive away. I was living in the centre of to
Also you may have to pay for classes or have restricted access or have to pay for a pass. Lots of hassle in my opinion. I didnt feel like it was worth it. Also I never used the gym. Naughty me

  • Pros:

I swim and occasionally use a gym. It's affordable that I can do both for a fixed price, and sometimes do both at the same facility.

    Cons:

Some facilities make you purchase an access card to their facility for after hours use. FP is upfront about this, though.

Some facilities (like swimming pools) still make you sign in each visit, in addition to swiping your card.

Suspensions have to be booked well in advance otherwise it leads a lot of payment confusion. One fortnight, I only paid the suspension fee. Another fortnight, I was charged the fortnightly fee and suspension fee. Currently trying to resolve this with FP.

  • I've been on FP for two years. No issues at all with using it at my local FF gym. Happy with the pricing too.

Only complaint I'd make is their suspension policy. I suspend my policy when I go on holidays where FP is not accepted , e.g. overseas. However, a minimum of 2 weeks and a limit of 2 suspensions per year mean I can't do it for breaks shorter than 2 weeks. $5/fortnight fee is also still charged during suspension.

Also direct debit by bank account only (no cc).

    • Yeah. I saw the suspension policy and it's not really good.
