  • $200 of bonus trade in value for eligible devices

    but what's an eligible devices?

    • +3

      Eligible device listed here

      • +2

Am I reading that right? The Galaxy buds 2 has a $600 trade in value?

        • I don't think you can trade in earphones/headphones anymore.

          • +1

@RichardL: Can you trade in hearing aids? I have a few from the 40's

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Sorry , can you repeat that ?

              • @Murkymerv: Let me get my glasses, I can't quite hear you.

        • Where are you seeing this? How do you get headphones to show up?

        • -1

          looks like $360 ($160 + $200 bonus trade-in? I believe the existing $100 bonus becomes $200)

        • +3

I remember getting a $500 bonus on trading a shattered as shit Galaxy s10 (trade in value $90). When they got the phone they only held back the $90 value, they still gave me the bonus :D

      • I really have nothing to trade in ( except iphone 6 but its not listed ) but i have the 250 trade in and the CME bonus trade up codes….if i have no intention of actually sending anything and happy for the $60 fine , but i need to list something on the order what do you suggest? if i say i have a iphone 7 will i have to find an IMEI/Serial Number that really is an iphone 7? or can can i choose a device that i don't need to prove what it is ?

        • +1

Use your current phone IMEI? If you arent going to send it in, then it wont matter as you dont lose anything apart from the fee.
Using some random IMEI you find means you could be screwing over the owner if they try to trade in.

    • what $200? is it not $350 bonus for trade in?
or $200 Extra on top of this?
so does this make $550 bonus trading-in bonus?
Your $350 bonus trade-in has been applied to your Galaxy S24 Series device, along with your eligible trade-in device value.

I think i get it 350 bonus is already there from samsung when trade in and then you get 200 when you register and then you can use galaxyai code for another 200 evoucher which must be used in same transcation. i was thinking that there is another 200 extra on top of everything when read this post.

      • this post was drom 10days ago, the offers are in flux.

  • Can confirm, also received.

  • -3

This has been posted before , hasnt it ?

    • -1

Nope, that was for a different voucher to be used towards the upcoming new release from Samsung

  • What's the title of the email from Samsung?

    • [insert name], a Galaxy Unpacked bonus just for you

      • Thanks. Can't find any email with that subject. Im not targetted.

  • I received the generic code but not this targeted code. Can this code be used on another account other than the account that received it? Thank you.

    • what code are you refering to? is there any other code other than Galaxyai and the code starting with cme-….?

  • +1

I still haven't received anything from the first form I filled with the generic code.

I filled the form again, lets see if I get the email

    • +2

I don't think this is related to the form. I haven't filled in the form for the generic code, but received this trade in bonus code.

      • Oh my bad, I read it wrong, it's a trade in, but I am willing to trade in if I am eligible.

        Thanks!

      • Perhaps that’s why you got it

  • +1

Got a code but not sure convinced worthwhile upgrade yet!

    • Pretty sure it will be epic
But s23 ultra still a great phone

    • Agreed. If the upgrade cost after trade in, bonuses etc isn't much more than the cost of a Samsung Care redemption then I'll probably do it.

  • Yeah but they give you couple hundred less for your phone anyway
Not sure if it’s worth it

  • Haven't had a look at the s24 yet.

  • Never received a target code as a Platinum member…..

    • Same

  • So I got a S23 256GB for like $400 previous deal. Worth trading in?

    • Trade in value is $550 for the S23 256gb + $200 bonus from this voucher + $200 from the OTHER voucher, plus whatever else you can swing from loyalty vouchers, online store 5%, $50 off voucher, Education store etc it's looking pretty good (pending the actual price of the new phones)

      • +1

Trade in values might drop right before the pre-ordering is open. I'd expect them to but will have to wait and see.
The other voucher is for "selected Galaxy Tablets, Buds, Watches and accessories" only so no discount off the phone but might be able to get some accessories cheap.

        • I'm thinking the same as poimandres.

Any idea how much the S24 Ultra 256GB will be tho?

Wouldn't mind switching from S23 Ultra for better AI + Cameras

          • -1

@bisaya: Most likely same price as iphone 15 pro max

      • +1

OTHER $200 voucher cannot be used towards price of the new S24 device. It is mentioned in T&Cs in the email. It can be used towards tablet, buds, watch or accessories only.

    • Chances are there will be bugger all noticeable difference in the new model. I wouldn't want to spend much extra, given the S23 is a great phone. I don't see why you'd upgrade

      • same, had S21 then S23. Probably wait S25 or even next one…

        • +1

I upgraded from an S10 and was disappointed how little difference there was (aside from processor speed)

  • +1

I hate that they're reportedly going Exynos 2400 in the global S24. But watch the early reviews all be US Snapdragon models.

    • The review videos will most definitely be titled "S24 Performance kills competitors" but will only show S24 Ultra results. Maybe some articles will show the base model but it will be like less than 10% of coverage.

      • +2

Which would be fine if they were honest and called the one we get the Galaxy S24 Minus.

    • +1

I think Exynos 2400 in S24 non ultra models is acceptable. Not ideal, but acceptable. If the ultra doesn't ship worldwide with Snapdragon it will be a big disappointment.

      • Yes, if they ship two varients of Ultra again, it'll be a disappointment. Honestly, ultra is different that they might as well still call it Note.

  • -3

I’m pretty sure if you register here: https://www.samsung.com/au/unpacked/ for the galaxy event you get this voucher

    • -1

That’s a different voucher and it’s generic GALAXYAI

  • -1

Looks like code is targeted to those that purchased a s23 ultra through Samsung last year, maybe s23/+ also

    • +2

I got them and don't have an s23.

  • +8

These days, the flagship phones are just that, nothing special about them and you can easily get away with a phone 2 to 3 years old and not making that much of a difference. I owned iPhone 11 Pro for 4 years now I have iPhone 15+. And I honestly don’t see much difference

    • Exactly. I have S21+ and I doubt very much S24+ will blow me away. The only concern you should have is the security update. Once they stop the security update then you have no choice but to upgrade. But these days Samsung gives you 4 years of major OS and possibly more for the security patches.

      • +1

Don't forget the battery loose it's capacity with every charging cycle.

      • I have the s22 and I'm thinking the same thing. If I can get a deal and shell out 500$ or so for a new s24, I'll do. Else there's no point in upgrading to the new version

        • +1

Surely Samsung have to lower the RRP. The market is saturated and there is no killer feature on these new phones.

          • +2

@skid: Yep. S24 is lame. Has Ai…. wow. So lame. Bing Copilot does it for free already. Nothing new.

    • thats why from note10+ i skip all the usual boring phones till zfold5.
at least i can do that fold unfold thingie

    • I went from an iPhone 7 to 14+ and was surprised how minimal the differences were.

      • thats a huge jump mate!

  • -1

Just register via the event site to get the same $200 voucher

    • +1

      It is different.

      • can you stack? $100 + $200 + Trade-in?

        • we need to try on the day

        • +1

Which $100 & $200 codes do you mean?
So far, there is this which is $200 off Galaxy tablets, watches, buds and accessories when you buy an S24. It is only $200 if you use it within the first 72hrs and then drops to $100 value after that. From the email, you can get the 4pack of smarttags + fast wall charger for $219 so effective cost will be $19 after using the voucher.
Then there is deal which is $200 trade in bonus.
Both of these most likely will should stack but will have to wait to confirm.
Should also be able to use the 5% first order through app discount.

There is the $100 code (CRE or CRS) you get through online chat or calling samsung but will have to wait and see if they stack or not.

There are also other codes if you already have them but Samsung no longer give them out so no point discussing them atm.

          • @8azinga: I think the only extra you get is from this as you mentioned online chat
There is the $100 code (CRE or CRS) you get through online chat or calling samsung but will have to wait and see if they stack or not

This one is the one where you register and get 200 and drops to 100 after 72 hrs
=>Then there is deal which is $200 trade in bonus.

    • It is different, you cant use it on phones, only on watches, tablets, buds accessories

  • When can we expect prices for fold and s23 ultra to drop

    • The S24 devices aren't officially announced until next week (17th in the US, 18th for us) so I imagine the prices will be adjusted then.

  • I tried to ask the people on the store app chat to send one as I never got one but they seemed oblivious to the email going out. Has anyone been able to get one sent outside of the first mail out?

    • +1

From previous deals, chat or support dont/cant send you the trade in bonus codes. Whoever gets it, gets it and im not sure how they work out who they send it to.

  • +1

    I got one earlier today.
Let's see how damn expensive these phones end up being.

From my experiences some of the best deals happen upon release (time wise and extras) especially if you trade in

  • +1

Wait 6 additional months for sales. If they do something like this deal again. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/805370. I picked up two Fold 5s for around 700-800 ea, others got the S23 Ultra for less than that.

There is no risk waiting for a deal like that as there will always be sales from Samsung themselves and the S23 base, S23+ will most likely perform better or same as the S24 base and S24+ as Australia will get Exynos chipset.

S24 Ultra I am curious about though

    • Agree with this.
Last year's S23 series have plethora of discounts throughout the year.
I don't think extra $200 voucher can dampen the overinflated RRP on release date

      • I think 50% off is still possible, just not 70% off like last year. Have hope

        • I lot my s21 ultra which i was very happy with in mid nov. When all the deals were over. Been searching since 🥲. Cant use s10e anymore it looks like in the fast broadband era i am working with dial up.

    • I also got this deal, however, i dont think this will happen again. It was more like Samsung made a mistake and it most likely wont be available again.
But of course, we can always hope and pray.

  • How do i get these emails?

  • +1

I got the targeted coupon but happy with my imported model S23 Ultra (had dual physical sim slots). Would be nice if Sammy Aus start reinstating dual physical sim slots (had been missing since Note 10 series).

    • Dual physical sim doesn't have eSim, does it?

  • +1

I was considering buying S24+ but Exynos no thanks.

  • Someone on/off topic but does anyone know if new phones result in deals on tablets also? Keen to get an Tab S9 or something similar but no sales at the moment or for a while. Thanks!

  • i have s23 but screen is damaged. its still working but minor crack. anyone knows can i trade in with s24? or should i change the screen and keep on using s23? any recommendation?

    • +1

You can still trade in the S23 with a damaged screen. Go to the TradeUp app in your phone and go through all the prompts and it will tell you your trade in price.

      • I dont think Samsung advise using trade up app anymore. They do it through their website or the samsung shop app. It works out the same though.

        • Ah right, I just did mine for my S21 cause all I know is the app lol. I haven't done trade in since my s21, I assume Samsung site and stores will passively lead people to the website or the samsung shop app. Maybe I am the minority that will do it through the tradeup app and they still accept it.

BIG WARNING (RIP OFF RIPP OFF)

Samsung use this mob called Asurion. for trade ups.
You cannot call them, there is no phone number.
You cannot deal with Samsung either, because they say the deal is via Asurion.

Asurion will try their best to give you the worst deal you can ever imagine for your phone.
For example, $25 for a Note 20 Ultra.

When you say you want to cancel the deal they refer you to Samsung.
When you try to contact Samsung they say its a Asurion issue.

They wont return your trade in phone, and tell you to refer to the terms and conditions.
Guess what, the terms and conditions say "that they value your phone……"
I tried threats of contacting Consumer affairs.
    Nothing works.

WARNING - dont deal with them.

Dont believe me? Check out whirlpool or others.
    Please dont deal with them

    • I used them to get trade in value but never sent the phone. They charged me admin fee but I got more from selling my trade in phone anyway

    • -1

Yeah they charged me no return fee, after 11 months without apologies.

    • +1

I used them 4 times no issue.

    • I used them last year and had no issues.

    • -1

No issues with them whatsoever. They have launched a new portal now where you can login and see your trade in. Also an option to cancel it from thete

    • I used them for the Flip 5 and had no problem other than they are slowpokes.

Threats of consumer affairs will not work because they are already the most complaint brand in 2023 so they're already at number 1. Adding another complaint from you won't make any difference.

    • You're not doing it right.

You're suppose to not send your phone back, cop the admin fee and resell the phone for a higher price on marketplace.

I've used the trade in service for over 20 devices, at one point t I was just getting imei's from Google (this was before they actually charged the admin fees)
