          A friend of mine cough has eaten heaps of expired chocolate, most recently some four year old lindt.

          The worst that seems to happen is that it loses its taste and afterward he questions my I mean his life choices.

      I've eaten worse. So a best before on some Maltesers is no big deal.

      Best before is today, that kinda ruins the deal. Best before basically means if you get 'white' chocolate, the store are not giving you a refund. Good deal, but tread carefully.

          I am talking about when milk chocolate goes bad and has that horrible white powercoat on it. Not sure why this advice is downvoted. Buy a box, if it's good and you want them for now go for it.
