Almost tricked me in thinking it was a Dyson

    • +4

Don't know why you got negged, must be from those Dyson haters. Upvoted you. I agree with you I also momentarily thought it was Dyson too. A bit dodgy of them also naming their model V10.

      • +7

Have this. As good as the Dyson V8. Battery still as strong as the first day even after 4 years and lighter than the Dyson V10.

        • +2

I opened up my v11 and it has 30q Samsung batteries which are some of the best cells around. Was honestly quite surprised as they are not all that cheap

        • Correction, 3 years ;)

          • +2

@John Doh: Same, but a V11 Dreame. Just about to hit 3 years, battery is holding up, but it has declined, I'd say has a 70-80% life.

I was noticing some performance slump, so removed and soaked the inside cyclone part. 2 seconds to remove, lots of hidden gunk inside it came out in the wash. Now performs much better.

Id say another 6-12 months and Ill grab a spare battery from Ali for $70 and hopefully get 3 years out of that.

Came from a dyson v6, battery didn’t last this long.

And much better option than spending $1000 on a dyson

    • +8

How can the price even remotely trick you into thinking this was Dyson?

      • Same way a newly released Samsung phone was 85% off.

        It is possible.

      • Maybe because there have been a few price error deals posted on OzBargain recently? On quick glance we thought OMG A Dyson V10 for $190, what a bargain and must grab one (or two), then realising it is just a dream (punt intended) :D

        • +2

Fair enough. But these are almost as good as Dysons. Definitely worth every cent of 189. One thing I found better on the dyson compared to this was how easily the head twists from side to side compared to this (but not by much). The recent dysons have definitely become heavy.

  • This vs Viomi A9?

    • Came to ask the same question, xiami rep has previously commented "The A9 sits in between Dreame V10 and V11", and another commenter suggested "Would the Viomi A9 not sit between the Dreame V9 and V10?".
      It looks reasonably similar

If anyone's considering this, I got the Dreame V9 3 years ago and its been much better than dragging a corded vac around. Biggest downside is the collector is small so needs emptied 2 or 3 times to do the whole house.

    • +3

Yep I've had my V9 for around the same period and I love it. Hasn't failed me once. Very effective.

      • +2

Interesting. I got the V9 in 2019 and it’s already in landfill. The battery died very quickly and when I went to buy another, I couldn’t source a genuine battery - only cheap Aliexpress ones.

        • agree- the replacement batteries are ridiculously expensive for my V9- so I changed over to Dyson V8 instead- frankly the Dyson cleans better and is way more quiet

          • @derdew: I ended up buying parts for my V6 - it’s as good as new now

          • @derdew: V8 is actually a better Machine imo than V9 and V10. Third party batteries are fine from Amazon

        • My one still looks new except battery. it died long time ago but looks new so I keep it. Now it is time to say good bye. I was thinking to buy a new battery but expansive and not sure it works… So I gave up.

        • Lithium batteries shouldn't go into landfill.

  • +6

Had mine nearly 3 years now. No major complaints. Does a decent job for a light/quick vac. Not sure i would get near 60 minutes though. Even on the lowest setting which is pretty weak tbh. Maybe the newer ones have better batteries though. Side note, i also have a Uomi which lasts tons longer. Now ive just gotta try a Viomi and then a Baloney. :p

    • +12

Dyson is also leagues more expensive

      • +1

And you get what you pay for.

        • +6

Have had both Dyson and the Dreame. Id say both are as bad as each other.

        • My dyson owes me some performance or a refund then. Most overrated thing we've ever bought.

Got the pet one. Can't handle pet hair. Came with a wall mount that can't hold all three heads it came with. Any debris is either fired at my legs by the machine head or falls out as soon as it's turned off. Constantly clogging. Just utter rubish.

    • +4

I have used both. And this is as good as the V8. Unless you are comparing it to the V11 or V15 or whatever.

      • Dyson v8 just a junk, a ridiculous expensive junk. A cheap black and decker way better than junk dyson v8.

    • Which model are you comparing this too?

Generally Dreame releases their latest model after Dyson for about half the price with similar specs.

I picked up on soldering and spot welding for changing the batteries and general maintenance every now. So far my Dyson v6 and Dreame v11 haven't skipped a beat

Dyson are generally better with warranty and parts but I never needed it so far

    • +1

I moved from a Dyson to this to save $$ and can't see any difference in performance, I have other family members who have done the same without any complaints.
I think Dyson is a little overrated IMO, but then, they are just vacuum cleaners, nothing to get too excited over ;)

    • +2

All my Dyson stick vacuums has their motorhead failed after a couple of years. My LG cordzero & Viomi A9's still going strong

  • +1

My V11 broke after 3 years. Was asked to pay $100 to either have it replaced with an used T20 (main body only) or pay $100 plus freight/other additional cost to repair it.
    Wouldn't touch a Dreame again.

    • i mean buying a dyson is about 10 times more…the only reason you would choose a dyson is probably you created less plastic and e waste for the earth. wait you also get the street cred for having dyson and probably look down on a dreame

      • +3

V11 was $360 when I bought it 3 years ago, not exactly cheap. You can buy Dyson for similar money these days. Not the latest model but given the V6 I bought 7-8 years ago is still going strong, I know which brand I would choose next time I buy a vacuum.

      • +1

Negative, Dyson costs 400-500, for a mid range good vacuum. Even better if you're getting them in the deals like that was going on since past few weeks.

      • i mean buying a dyson is about 10 times more…

Dreame v10 is comparable to Dyson V8, which was $300ish in previous OB deals. And I have yet to see a $1900 Dyson stick vacuum :-p

  • +3

Bought one a few years back, absolute rubbish. It worked well for about a year and then barely worked and the battery degredation was wild.

Save yourself, the tip and the planet this piece of soon to be hard rubbish.

    • I still have mine from 3 years ago and it works mostly fine.

    • Agree it only last for a year then its pretty much throw away. Get a Dyson V8, battery parts still available for cheap, otherwise LG cordzero

The old Dreami I had was also overheating, hot to touch. Its a piece of trash

  • battery doesn't last to do 3 bed house ..2 years old now

    • If it has been 2 years, replace the battery then? Battery in my Dyson V7 lasted 3 years until I had to replace it. Running like new again now, no issues cleaning my 3 bedroom home.

      • Does it have a user replaceable battery?

        • Yes, both can be easily replaced.

  • My one died after 2 years. Don't know what to do with that and it's attachments.

  • +1

Those who are complaining about battery ….how often do you use it and for how long?

    • Nah nah just buy the latest vacuum every 2-3 years or their overpriced GENUINE replacement batteries as you do with your mobile phone.

Make sure you always use the maximum setting to drain the battery as much as possible…

      Manufacturer love repeated customers!!

  • +2

I have a different experience with this product, nothing but great experience

I got a V9 back in 2019, been going strong for over 4 years now but I live in a 2-bed apartment may be that's why. Battery is still fine for my use case. I have always been using speed 2 (speed 1 is mediocre). YMMV

  • +1

We had one for about 3 months before the battery became completely useless and would only hold charge for about 3 minutes. Went back to Dysons after that.

Other people's experiences might be different but ours was pretty bad.

    • -2

      It's a user replaceable battery.

    • @chu-oh hi what's wrong with your pass app thread? I'm interested to join will I still get 10 dollars?

      • +1

Oh I just saw it had been posted a couple of times before already and my mental health at the moment is too fragile to have pricks on this site jump down my throat about it.

  • -3

I just checked my emails for order history

I bought my Dyson D59 Animal in 2014. Still working!
I replaced the battery myself off amazon for a few bucks but it works fine

    The quality is/was amazing

  • For the price it is good. Randomly, the battery can be an issue. I.E it could be died within a few min. Depends on whom you buy from, you may get a free one posted without the need to return the faulty one. I am thinking whether I can get the faulty battery replaced somewhere:) My 2nd one has lasted for over 1.5 years now.

  • Had one for nearly two years and sod it, nothing wrong with battery but suction is just too weak in my opinion. Bought a Dyson V8 during Christmas sale and could notice the obvious difference.

Won't go back to dreame again.

  • +1

Wouldn’t touch Dreme ever again. Mine broke done. My Dyson v8 still working since launch

    • Totally agree. Dreami is sht, Dreamsht it should be called. Its landfill material

  • +2

My V9 purchased in July 2020 just died/about to die, strong smell of burnt plastic coming out of it when in use…not sure if I should get this one now…

    Man, I paid $299 back then?! 🤦

    • +2

      Same boat here

      • And the brushes on the tools won't lock into place any more!

I bought this one anyway. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I figured $100 a year is not too bad I suppose (If this one lasts at least 2 years…)

  • +1

Anyone tried the Kmart cordless vac?

    • No, but the corded one for $29 is a ripper at that price. Lol. Just buy 5 or 6. 1 for each room. :p

    • Wife has one for her car. She says she's very happy with it for the price. It doesn't have a roller head or anything though.

  • I've had the Mi 1C for about 3 years. Its been pretty good but only has the soft roller head. Batteries are ok but pretty due, I only now get 3mins on high. but no problem on the medium setting. Im wondering if this new version with the new carpet head on the Dreame 10 would be good? Anyone had one with the carpet head that can report?

  • +1

I have been using dreamer v9 for 4.5 years now .

Bought in 2019 for around $350 including Additional head for carpet and hard wood floor.

Still going strong. Easy to clean and remove dust from outside and battery still going strong. Use it in my 2 bdr apt.

  • +4

Been using the Dreame V9 for 3 years now and still going strong, original battery

  • looks like sold out already:(

    • Back in stock fyi

  • Noo missed out :(

    • Back in stock fyi

  • Gone.. missed the boat

I am going to stick with Dyson & Toyota tbh

  • I had the v10 for about 2 years until it died recently. The metal propellor that generates the suction exploded and all the fins broke off it. Battery and motor still fine, just no suction.

Move onto the lubluelu at one of the recent Amazon deals for around $120. It’s fantastic and much better than the dreame was, compared to even when the dreame was new. Motor powered head, good suction, easier to clean and empty. Huge fan!

    • +1

      This one?

Lubluelu Vacuum Cleaner,25Kpa 235W Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with Self-Standing,Up to 55mins Detachable Battery,6 in 1 Lightweight Stick Vacuum Cordless for Hard Floor,Carpet,Pet Hair https://amzn.asia/d/4dRajUH

      • Looks like that's the one

        • Mixed reviews, although I like that it can stand by itself

          • +1

@John Kimble: Yes that’s the one. Very feature packed and great quality so far. Even has the led lights like the new Dyson models. Battery life also great. To be honest my favourite features are just the downright clever design for cleaning it. The whole internal filter barrel pulls out with a quick twist (tool free).
so you can easily clear all the dust and hair that doesn’t come out just by emptying the latch. Even the motorised roller brush head pops out easily and tool free to easily clear any hairs that get wrapped around it.
The only unknown for me is longevity, but so far I’m amazed at the features, performance and design for the price

            • @Shaneeo: @shaneeo
how's the suction compared to V10 on max setting on carpet?

with V10 on maximum setting, V10 could pick up really fine dust and I could feel when I lift the vacuum away from the carpet it's like stucked, which means the suction on V10 is really strong. How is this compared to Lubluelu?

              TiA

              • +1

@babiguling: Yep suction about the same or maybe even stronger. Sticks to the carpet

  • +1

    Still available.

  • Yeah they found more stock

  • +1

We bought the dreame v11 and it has been awesome. Powerful, lightweight and lots of power. Battery life is impressive and it’s easy to empty. Don’t know why people love their Dyson units so much. My sister had one and it was rubbish compared. I’d imagine the v10 dreame would be exceptional value for money.

  • Has anyone tried the Honiture S13 from Amazon currently $181.99 and 33% off, and how does it compare to the Dreame V10.

We still have our Dreame V9 from mid 2021, but found it not powerful enough without the motorhead.

  • +1

Battery couldn't be changed on my last Dreami. Dead stick throw out for council cleanup

    • +1

Do you throw out your phone when the battery "cant" be changed?

      • When the battery is dead, you can't change battery and no parts for it. I put them in "mobile collection" bins, or I sell them on eBay. Try doing that with your non working vaccum stick?

Meanwhile Dyson v6 from 2015 still working with third party battery, that's 9 years

        • Read my earlier comment in the thread.
I picked up on how to solder and spotweld my own batteries. Once in a while i would take apart the vacuum for cleaning and maintenance and both my old Dyson v6 and current Dreame v10 are as good as the day I purchased them.

  • Just a quick review that the head on this vacuum is terrible for my use case (3 young kids that love making a mess).

On hard floor, it struggles to pick up anything remotely bigger than normal dust (eg grains of rice or cereal), it just flicks it out all over the place, or it's too big to even fit and you have to lift up the vacuum and place it over the item so it can be sucked up the pipe/tube directly.

On carpet it is much better.
