  • can receive sms with it?

    • +4

No mobile number, so no sms.

      • Thanks

  • With a mobile number to receive SMS?

    • +1

No number, it's in their FAQ.

  • Works fine just activated it. Log in with apple or gmail, you get 1gb free and you dont have to add credit card details before use.

  • I recently used something like this in the US. Convenient when coming out of the airport and just downloading an eSim and away you go. But, it has the feeling like you're probably infecting your phone and spying on your banking.

    • Just in case you can't get connectivity at your destination airport. Is it better to download an eSIM using your home wifi before your flight.

      • +2

definitely download the eSim before you leave.
Just enable it when you get to your destination.

      • Definitely worth pre-loading if you have forethought! I landed and completely forgot about what I'd do about internet. In previous trips 10+ years ago getting just a short-term Sim in the US was almost unheard of, these eSims have made it way easier.

    Looking at https://freakingnomads.com/jetpac-travel-esim-review/

    Enjoy FREE 20GB of
    Jetpac Global eSIM on us!
Use Code FRKNGNOMADS10 to Unlock Your Complimentary Globetrotter Pack

Haven't tried it, but worth a shot for those with eSIM compatible phones

    • It gives me an error, "Oops! Promocode cannot be used for this item"

    • Not working, there is no 20GB plan.

    • Doesnt work , wants you to select the $10 USD plan.

    • +1

Not free, code makes it 20GB for $28 USD.

  • Hi, so after registering and checking out, do you need the jetpac app to make this work?
Also, to those boost mobile users, I think we still receive SMS when overseas right?

    • Yes you need the app,
eSim will load but it won't activate without the app

      • -1

Wait you sure about that? I just scanned the eSIM into my phone first before getting the app. It installed fine, looks like it picked up reception fine too.

        • +1

100%, it did all that for me, but couldn't use any data until the app was installed.
The app also says your eSim is now activated once you have logged in.

          • @Jessie Ryder: Ok so do I need to Logon to the app after turned the eSIM on or can I install the app open it without ESIM turned on whilst still in Aus until get to destination country?

    • +2

yes you still receive SMS overseas, and when you have WiFi, VoWiFi still works and you can even call Oz numbers as if you are in AU.

      both was tested in China.

  • When does this offer end?

    • +1

      Unknown.

What a solid first post, OP

Thanks….only been here 10+ years or so!

  • These guys seem to be related / part of circles.life ?

    • How so?

      • +2

        This site: https://travel.circles.life/shop/
Also when you sign up via the app the url is travel.circles.life when verifying email address.

        And this quote
“While we are part of the Circles.Life's travel ecosystem, we use a different roaming provider to offer you the best roaming experience at the most affordable prices.”

      • during sign up i noticed the URL redirect to travel.circles.life and back to jetpac

    • +1

They are definitely related to Circles.Life. Circles.Life Singapore launched a Travel eSIM product called "Jetpac" in Singapore around Nov 2022 which at the time was an absolutely sick deal: $25 SGD for 25GB in (I presume) the same 50 countries of this deal. Those prices only lasted for about 6 months.

  • thks op, redeemed, will be useful for upcoming trip

  • Going to Bali in May can I download now and enter code but not actually activate yet?

  • Thanks OP

  • -1

1GB will last me about a day traveling 😂

In in Thailand in May, but I think Sims are extremely cheap in Thailand.

It starts from 100 Thai Baht, so no point buying one beforehand.

I'm not sure about e-sim which I prefer as it's easier.

  • Does install eSIM = activate?

  • Legend. I am traveling at the moment. So it was helpful

  • Lovely, thanks OP

  • Im travelling to Japan in March….Can I download now and activate it when I travel?

  • -3

    No singapore? really????

    • Cause they're based there. Roaming SIMs normally exclude their home country

  • What is the catch?

  • Does it work with Samsung Watch 5? Has anyone tried it?

  • Amazing all working in Japan. I wonder if I can install a new one when the 1GB is finished.

  • +2

    "This claim is completely claimed".

  • Seems like it's run out now.

  • Thanks OP. It’s back in stock. Just got one.

    • Thanks for mentioning! I just 'bought' 20 - should be good to last for my whole upcoming trip! Churn and burn people

      • Using multiple email addresses?

        • Correct - it's the only check that they have

          • @patso: How'd you manage that?

I tried the old Gmail trick or adding a ".1" to the email address, and it wouldn't work…

            • @movieman: Yes the google trick. It's to add a . not a .1 no?

  • Can confirm. Deal active again.

  • awesome deal! Is there an expiry on when the eSim needs to be activated by?

(sorry saw the question asked a few times above but no answer)

    • +3

To answer my question for others:

Couldn't find any info on the JetPac site, FAQs or T&Cs, but according to this HSBC page:

Upon redemption, the Jetpac eSIM is valid for 1 year to be activated. Once activated, it is valid for 30 days usage overseas.

  • Out of stock. Code redemption exhausted

  • +1

The default offer now at their website is 1Gb for 1 USD. But if you fill in the redeem code FREE1GB you can still obtain the free Esim.

    • Looks like it doesn't work anymore

1GB or $1 USD tbh isn't that bad
