We have had a charge 4 and 4 charge 5s fail in the last 12 months.

Fitbit have known issues (google white screen and charge 5) and their solution is to not fix the issue, but to send you a replacement same one or a discount code on a full priced Charge 6 (which is often more expensive than a sale item). I finally got jacked of their quality issues and used Amazon return policy to get a full refund when my less than 2mth old Charge 5 shat itself. I tried dealing with Fitbit but after a week I gave up.

Do your research, their quality is very average and for a $200+ item, I'd be looking at alternatives

I agree. I'm onto my 3rd fitbit charge 5. Fitbit was forced to honour my 2nd warranty claim and extend my warranty to 2yrs due to a warranty claim within 12 months and ACCC action.

    • My Charge 3 shat itself early on (unresponsive blank screen) and also needed a band replaced.

My Charge 4 band fell off one day and as I inspected my fitbit, I noticed that the fitbit notch had snapped off. This made buying bands impossible (or so I thought) because they had nothing to attach to. I found a silicon shell band that I can pop it into and that has worked well.

      I don't think I will get a Charge 5 or Charge 6.

      fitbits have very poor QA.

I have also known a few others that have owned fitbit and I think 100% of them had varying issues too.

    • same here, band fell off. The official customer service offered me 30% off voucher which I will never use.

Bought huawei GT2 and its pretty good.

    • Just get them from Officeworks, can usually swap them over the counter. 2y warranty is pretty good.

Agree not point spending more on the charge 6, picked up another 5 from JB $137 pricematch target deal recently

  • I had a fitbit charge 5 fail on me twice within the warranty period.

Screen just keeps on dying/glitching for some reason. You can only see a horizontal line in the middle.

Resetting the device did not help. Support was not helpful.

Good thing Amazon returns are awesome. They handled the replacement and eventual refund very well.

Not very happy with the quality given it's price point - steer clear.

    • My experience with the Charge 5 matches that of @jrphqc.

I'm now on my fourth Charge 5. The screen has failed on each of my earlier Charge 5s, all within the warranty period (Fitbit has been happy to replace each time). When my current Charge 5 fails I'll try the Charge 6 or something more reliable.

  • YMMV wrt quality

Had my charge 4 for a bit over 3 yrs now and had no issues, currently on my 2nd band
approaching replacement time as battery for GPS tracked activities is down to ~2.5 hrs from ~3.5

  • Went through more of the Fitbit Charge 1 and 2 than I've had hot dinners. Bubbling of the watch bands. Fitbit were trash to deal with trying to convince me that each subsequent failure fell under the original warranty of the first item I had bought a year before. Never again.

  • Does anybody know if I use the voucher? Can I get cashback still? One of the cashback is giving 10.5% on mydeal

  • My charge 5 just died. Contacted the support. Its still under warranty and was bought from JB HIFI. Probably better I go to JB and get a replacement directly.
