I purchased one last time and it's been solid but it doesn't take much for the fan to start kicking in at noticable levels.

That's kind of the same with all mini computers

      • Just recently got a UM790 Pro, surprising how quiet it is and how little the fan runs…

I have one but only use it for torrenting so not particularly demanding, anyway I use the Universal x86 Tuning Utility available on github, set the premade preset to eco or balanced and it's basically silent aside from the initial boot. May be worth looking into it?

      • If plex supported AMD for quick sync these things would be awesome. Till then I use Intel processors for plex servers.

      • Will give it a go. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Friend wants a Sims 4 PC. Will the AGPU in this do it?

Kind of feel like even it can run it…kind of limits what other games can be played on it.

We use these in our office. Great computers for the price - even more so that Windows Pro is included.

The fan gets so freaking annoying. It's quite loud, and kicks in a lot. Very high pitched. Otherwise really great PC. I didn't think it came with windows, but it did! Incredible price

    • Alot of talk about lowering the TDP. Tried that?

      • No, will try that at some point for sure. Didn't want to limit the performance though as it's used as a desktop PC

        • set in windows limit the processor speed? is it very slow at 70% ?

          • @uccoffee: If you limit the TDP, you are limiting the literal power the CPU can use, so you are reducing the performance of the CPU. Typically this is done through BIOS.

            • @onlinepred: you can also do it in windows contorl panel - edit power plan - advance ppower setting - to limit maximum processor state
you can toggle between the power profile, so if you need it to be quiet / speed , you can quickly change it.

  • Had 1TB SSD in description and on product page but 500GB in the title.

    • Description was a copypasta from Amazon - the only SSD option for this processor is 500GB

      • I see it now, I thought it was in the buying options before which would've been better value.

  • Pretty amazing a computer so small has so much power - I get why the fan kicks in for the TDP in that small space.

  • Honestly when you can get the new 7800G in a box this small its going ot be a pretty awesome mini computer.

  • Can anyone recommend a mini PC that's passively cooled with reasonable performance, e.g. to run Roblox and Minecraft, and can be mounted behind a monitor

    • +1

Maybe one of the N100 or n200 boxes might be able to run Roblox, they can be passively cooled

  • This or the TRIGKEY S5 at $545.30 with 32GB ram & 1TB storage? Only $60 more but a less popular "brand". https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0CGZZW9NJ/ref=ox_sc_ac…

    • I have a Trigkey S5.

Beelink has an active support community via Reddit and it's possible to adjust the TDP in the BIOS (and probably some other things)

      Trigkey has none of those.

      • I ended up buying a 5800H Trigkey with 32GB RAM 500GB SSD anyways because it's only around $488 after discounts. Double the RAM and around the same price with this Beelink, I think I'll forgo tinkerbility. Not to mention that all these "brands" are supposedly offshoots of AWZ and they have the same manufacturer.
