    • I'm going to guess it's actually

"This phone is half of the pixel 7 price but has a better 120hz display"

    • +1

So how is an IPS screen on this better than the OLED screen on the Pixel 7.

      • +2

Let alone how is any other screen better than OLED?

        • OLED looks good, but it seems to massively dim when hot. At least this is what I see on my Pixel 6a. My Nokia 6.1 doesn't have this issue.

Not that any of this matters. My Nokia 6.1 looks no better or worse than my Pixel 6a.

Bought it for my son during Black Friday- great phone for this price

  • +15

Had one for a few months now. Outside of taking 7 years from a cold boot, it's pretty sweet. Camera is eh, but it takes decent enough shots if you're not sprinting while doing it.

Can play Simpsons Road Rage at full speed. Haven't really used it for gaming, only downloaded backed up legally from my collection that one game to test it's PS2 gen emulation.

Speaker is loud. NFC is fast. Screen is very pretty. Battery life is great, easily goes a few days between charge with my use. Apparently isn't good enough spec wise to play the new GTA trilogy, but frankly, the new GTA trilogy isn't good enough for me to play anyways lol

Good deal for the price, I'd jump if you were on the fence.

    • Does it feel durable? Like won't crack from a simple drop?

      • +1

Build quality is definitely decent for the price.

    • Is that the G54?

Looking for something with those specs, but with a good camera..

    • So tempting, bought a gamesir g8 and figured I’d just grab a cheap phone, this seems the one. Thanks for the emulation info (although mostly I’ll use moonlight)

    • Thanks for the review! How is the fingerprint scanner?

  • Was very very close to getting the power version of this phone. If only the cameras were semi decent. Hits all other requirements

    • +1

So again camera on this model is sh|t just like most other Moto?

      • +2

Apparently sideloading gcam does improve it a lot.

        • +2

I have g51 and I did sideload gcam on it. It was pretty annoying. Random camera freezes and not much improvement over the original camera app. I uninstalled it after a week.

      • +1

It's a Motorola. They are well known for potato class cameras.

    • +1

ANY(including flagship) moto you buy be prepared for hopeless camera and bad software updates.
gcam doesn't make any significant difference.

other than these two, the current moto phones are excellent in all areas.

  • Wasn't the G54 sub $200 recently?

    • Black Friday eBay Plus special, limited units.

    • Both exclude coupon promotions.

  • Why to bother about esim over physical one?

    • +4

Possibly many other reasons, but when I went overseas I was able to get a phone plan online instantly (and free since there was a promo with the local carrier)

  • Anyone know what delivery time is like with these guys? Just watched a video on youtube, camera doesn't seem too bad

    • My last order took 6 days all up.

  • Does anyone know how this compares to Moto G62 ?

  • Bought it at the last allphones Nov deal. Nice phone but I do have an issue casting to my Sony Bravia TV. It keeps buffering and stuttering, impossible to cast. I tried googling but can't find an answer. Anyone knows a fix?

    • It's probably brand lock in. Just get a Motorola TV.

      /s

  • 6.5 inch is a good size to carry and hold. Hard to find any flagship phones with this size.

  • Nice deal when PB at JB, then combine with $30 perk credit

    • Thats over $300 spend though.

  • +1

    This or pixel 7

    • Well this one is less than half the price. Depends on how much you want a good camera.

  • +5

The most important feature is being able to double karate chop your phone to toggle the torch. I wouldn't be able to function without a Motorola phone now because I use that constantly.

    • +2

And rotating the phone back and forth to start the camera and rotate back and forth to change the lens, both features used daily

  • +1

Stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack…these features should be in every phone. Anything else feels like a compromise now.

    • +1

Yeah funny how they have that in a budget phone and yet premium high end smart phones completely lack the 3.5mm headphone jack.

      • Well premium phones use that space for other things such as fitting in a much better camera

        • Yep, that space can be used for anything else and improves the IP rating. I don't need to plug in headphones or speakers because bluethooth is a thing.

      • This the way…the Apple way

    • @AHUANG true or false?
