I read Quantum Physics for Hippies a few years ago (it was cheap and I was curious). Similar "beginners" claim. A bit dry despite the spiel, and not for the 'faint hearted' so to speak. I read it over many sittings, probably not the way to go for amateurs like me on a topic like this. Particles which behave differently depending on whether they're observed on not? Mind boggling.

Schrodinger was essentially philosophising. Unlike the Weizmann Institute scientists of the 20th centruy, he didn't know about particle interference.
