Can you self check out with this?

    • Why not? It just a barcode.

    • I did this morning, scanned first go.Probably worked because I made the print out a bit bigger.

  • +1

Thanks, I'd been meaning to try it.
Self checkout didn't like scanning off my phone screen but I printed it out from machej's post.

Btw, why the hate for sharing the voucher?

    • +3

Vouchers limited to 5000 bottles - so if you manufacture a voucher, someone with a legitimate one may not get their cola. (Woolworths system is bound to have a limit of 5000 barcodes presented. They only get compensated or given 5000 bottles. I trained a seller from a multi-national to major supermarkets - got an insight into the deals.) So those grabbing 10 are not going to be liked, as if they care!

      • The thing is that people can always change the name on their original one too. I reckon Woolworths staff will just let them have it if the barcode still claims they are gone as the terms don't say whilst stock lasts.

        • It was 5000 bottles. Stock of this drink is not limited. "whilst stock lasts" in this promotion would be meaningless as Woolies is unlikely to run out of drink they also want to sell - it is 5000 of that stock.

Woolies won't get paid for more than 5000 bottles - its not their give away. Can't see them wasting their profits giving away free drink they will not be reimbursed for. Would you? So it is likely barcode reads will be limited to 5000.

Just because staff can not verify if a voucher is legitimate does not mean people claiming what they are not entitled to is taking from others.

    • As pointed out earlier, Woolies staff will help with phone screen barcode by manually entering. Have done that before with Woolies. Making the barcode as large as possible may help.

      • I've found turning the brightness to max helps a lot too!

Another 5 less for valid voucher holders!

      • -5

there was plenty on shelf. you honestly think they can track who got free and who paid for them?

heck, the staff even asked me if i was cool with her using some after her shift ended. i said no worries darling.

        • +2

Uhhh.. Yeah. Every time you scan the voucher, they know that it's been claimed.

          Tard.

        • we will find out if such a system exists. Knowing people who work in Woolworths Limited IT, I doubt it

        • -3

+1. having worked with them when i was studying, they couldnt even get their prices right.

heck, even the electoral commission couldnt get my itunes working when i put my number in, and simply told me i was ineligible. when others was rorting the promo. so i doubt the IT department can get it right

oh and another 2 on my shopping run. still works!!

  • Claimed my free 1.25 litre Pepsi Next tonight.

I simply asked the girl at the checkout "Hey, punch in this barcode number for me thanks". She did, it worked.

  • I've never been stopped simply reaching over and putting a card (EDR or FlyBuys) or voucher (this one or the candles form before) in front of the sensor myself at the checkouts.

Im now running out of family members and places to get pepsi. even though they are marked as expired, there are still plenty of pepsi to go around.

  • Picked up mine today. Always love the look on the checkout persons face when drinks and candles magically scan free. LOL!
Perplexing taste, still like normal Pepsi but with all the disadvantages of diet eg. sour like after-taste and odd feeling on teeth.

those vouchers are still working! bottoms up!! another 2 today =D.

    • +1

      those vouchers are still working!

And why would the promoter have any reason to stop the vouchers working?

Because people that got 1 voucher claimed more than they were entitled to! Just from going on your comments here on Ozbargain, you have claimed at least 25 bottles. Thats excessive and exploiting the promotion.

You might think woolies and schweppes are big companies and you are just getting your moneys worth, but at the end of the day, all of these purchases come from someones marketing budget and they are less likely to run these promotions in the future if they are blatantly exploited.

      • Neg the troll and keep moving.

      • -7

Not my problem about their marketing budget. I sign up for some promos and then get told im not eligible. That's BS. So since i travel to so many places, i might as well stock up on some pepsi =D

Plenty on here abused the subway free lunch promos, kettle calling pot black?

  • coupon not working mayfield 24/10/12

    • +1

      Thanks t25

      • -6

        you snooze you lose.

  • Confirm, no longer working

  • Damn. I haven't even gone to get mine yet :(

  • worked 9pm on 23/10/12. I must have been one of the last. :)

  • coupon doesn't work anymore, but just take the pepsi and the coupon to the checkout chick/guy and they should be able to process it without any issues. Just did it this afternoon.

  • Bad experience for me. 17:15 (Qld) Finally tried to claim first free bottle with my legitimate voucher & was treated as a criminal!

Voucher was not accepted, senior staff member called, told "don't you move while I get the manager". Long discussion, looks at voucher, me. Finally let go & let off with free bottle. Told promoter would be contacted & my details were kept.

Thanks to all those who scammed free bottles. Grrrr!!

Lol, you should have done self checkout. Put it through yourself, no questions asked. Did it today

      • Um, your assumption was incorrect.
I did & the machine refused the voucher & called the supervisor over. Believe me too many questions were asked.
It was unpleasant experience, not a laugh!

      • Yesterday you said the offer had expired. Others agreed.
But today you say you scanned it through self-serve.
        Which is correct??

        • -1

I didn't do it properly yesterday which is why it didn't work. Basically you just scan the code, it will tell you free Pepsi next. Don't scan the actual bottle, just bag it. The weight will be correct once you put it in the bagging area. Complete checkout and you're good to go. If you scan the bottle, you will be charged for the bottle. That's why I suggested self checkout because the checkout person will scan the bottle too.

        • thanks for that. will try it out and report back.

        • +1

Don't scan the actual bottle, just bag it.

          Thats stealing

        • Based on what tchi6 said, no its not. The self serve will not let you add something if hasn't been scanned as it looks for th weight to match. I'm going to guess that scanning the barcode on the facebook offer is the same as scanning the Pepsi bottle for the self serve checkout.

        • -2

If its not stealing, why not go through the normal checkout then? :)

  • -5

Over here in WA, the stores are still handing them over like candy. no questions asked. =D

  • Got one today!

  • -2

promo finished. good on pepsi and woolies.

  • I only found this today? How the hell did I miss this?
