    'top-of-the-line gigging'
Might be going a bit far there. No doubt its good value though

Bought a few things from Artist and customer service has been good every time, with fast shipping. Cheap guitars 20 years ago were generally absolutely dreadful. These ones Artist make are really good value and easily good enough for gigging, recording, whatever.

  • Someone please convince me I need this.. 😅

I've had my Epiphone SG Special sitting in a beautiful case, unused for over 15 years.. After my move, I think this LP59 would look amazing next to my SG, displayed on the sides of a desk for example, hung up on the wall.. 😍😅

Edit, I'm pretty much sold, just wondering if I want the Black or Brown hard case but black is too common I think, especially with school kids.. 😅

    • @ArtistGuitars, do you expect to run out of stock? Planning to put through my order eaely the following week when I get back in town. Thanks.

  • This or an EBMM Majesty 🤔

Support from Artist is really hit and miss - if it's a good item, you're gold (I've got a couple that are good), but they sold me a "customer return" headless which they forgot to mention had one buggered tuner, and tech support (which was great) didn't have any spares for because the V2 tuner style has replaced it, and then I messaged them several times about taking it back due to the complete misrepresentation in their sales copy and … nothing, so I'm out the $300 because I can't use it or sell it. So yeah, be careful.

    • Yes, getting scammed is generally a bad sign…

Never played a bad Artist guitar, they punch far above their weight.

Got a guitar (not this one, but a tele) from them and a few accessories. Great products and service, I highly recommend.

  • Not on sale (same price as this though), but the 335 copy in cherry is in stock. It's never in stock.

  • I've got 3 Artist guitars and with a bit of setup they hold their own against my more expensive brand name guitars. The Artist LP junior copy is a great example.

  • Would this make a good first guitar for a fat 40
Year old who knows nothing and learning from
    Scratch? LOL or overkill?

Nope. Perfect price for a starter guitar. And Artist are pretty good.

But I'd suggest maybe going to a guitar shop and trying out the different types of guitars. I prefer sitting when I play and I found the Les Paul's a bit small for me. I like the tele's and the hollow bodies.

  • These are good guitars…Especially with a decent setup… BUT resale value!

  • Do they stay in tune?

My son's Jackson Dinky Minion JS1X goes out of tune in a couple of minutes. Especially the G string.

  • more accurate price would be 249. I wouldn't pay more. It's just passable and almost playable. Not as good as an Epiphone but you're paying a little more, which is worth it.
Yes. I owned one of these for 2 weeks and rolled it straight after.
