  Just passing through, not done any of my own research yet, but thought this might be a good place to ask.
  Is there any other tag like think that works well in the Android ecosystem?
  Family member lost a Subaru car key recently and Subaru want $700 to replace it.

    Yep. Samsung smart tag (for newer phones only) and tile (device agnostic). I've got the smart tag +, works really well. Saves me so much time finding my keys and phone.

  i wana use these for travel, but i hate the fact that it gives notification to anyone with an iphone, i have had my bag stolen in an airport few years ago, so if another thief takes my bag and they have an iphone this would be helping the thief, i know you can take out the speaker beeper by opening it with a razor but that does not stop the near field notification pop up for other iphone users.

  there is the option of the tile brand, but you cant change the battery on that one. and the samsung one is way more expensiver than apple for no reason,

  I have taken the battery out to stop the tracking, any way to return to owner? Or re-purpose?

    I'm no expert, but I'm guessing the owner wants the battery IN the device… so, you know, he can find it. Just a guess.
