Can i just ask. Whats the benefit of buying these gift cards if there is no discounts? Thanks!!

Credit card points/meeting minimum spend for new cards.

      • I just pay all my bills in ZIP PAY, and pay my ZIP Pay with my GC.

super ez to meet minimum spend.

just forward pay your Internet/mobile/gas/power/council bill

        • Does the giftcard through Zippay still works?

        • How much is your zip pay limit?

          • @spedohero: 1k limit when u first sign up. But u can use /repay immediately /repeat as often as you need.

        • I can't seem to add the giftcard to my payment methods for zip using the mobile app.

Am I missing a step? Or is this no longer working?

@Chrisdestroy: Sorry I made a typo, I was meant to type CC not GC…

            what I meant is,

paying certain bills (especially gov ones), may not accumulate credit card points, or may not count as part of minimum credit card spend target.

by paying those bill using ZIPPAY (not zipmoney btw), and then pay off ZIPPAY using Credit Card, will end up accumulate points.

My point was trying to say, buying giftcard at no discount is extra effort for nothing…

            my bad.

            • @OMGJL: Zip pay has $10 monthly fee?

              • @l2argain: pay your bill, once the transaction is clear in a few days time, just pay it out. No fee charged when you have 0 balance to pay at the end of the month. zip pay waive the fee when you have 0 balance.

don't use zip during the last week of the month, in case you didn't have time to wait for the transaction to be clear in order to pay in advance.

Paying bills where the usual charge is higher for CC. Eg my strata has 1.4% when paying on CC but this GC is only 0.4%. on a $1500 quarterly fees I kind of save $15 instantly.

I heard from other source this card is now capped at max $300 per day at a given store? Like someone else spend $300 GC before you means you'll have to come back tomorrow.

Most cards give around 1% real money worth of points, factor there's risk of fraud, and a potential $300 limit (someone verify this please) doesn't even worth the hassle…..

I also have a question.. what does Coles points offer ? Nah never mind..I think I got it .. this approach seems like a lot of work with very little returns

Just a heads up, ato no longer accepts these

    • +13

They only accept Apple gift cards now

      • +2

That's what the ATO told me when they called me about a payment earlier today.
        Didn't know they worked weekends.
I just have to read out the card numbers over the phone.
        What could go wrong?

        • +1

Did they also tell you they found a virus on your home computer, and needed remote access immediately?

        • I raised a complaint with Heritage couple of days ago…their initial response was -
“The Coles Prepaid Mastercard is owned and operated by a company called Incomm. Incomm is responsible for customer services and transaction processing on your card; they have access to your account information. Heritage's role is to ensure that your funds are held by a reputable, registered Bank in Australia. Heritage does not have access to view your personal or account information
Could you please provide your name and the number from the back of the card, as pictured below and we will escalate your concerns to Incomm for investigation”

When they called me the guy got abusive as I gave him the wrong SMS code twice. Then he called me a lair and hung up before I could make a payment.

        • They said I got nominated for best tax citizen award 2023 but just needed to confirm my details and also give them my cc details… sounds legit

    • Dang
