Nothing special TBH, but better than $5 credit from $200 spend recently… This one likely supersedes that one as the dates overlap.

The first 1,000 orders who enter the promotional code “GCAPR10” in the “redeem a Gift Card or Promotional Code” box at checkout when purchasing $250 or more in Amazon.com.au Gift Cards in a single transaction will receive a $10 promotional credit that can be used on a future eligible order (“Offer”). Offer available between 12:01AM (AEST) on 28th April 2024 and 11:59PM (AEST) on 30th April 2024. Promotional credit will expire at 11:59PM (AEST) on 30th May 2025. Your promotional credit will be automatically applied to your account within three (3) business days after your order is shipped (for physical gift cards) or the order being completed (for electronic gift cards). A confirmation email will be sent once the promotional code has been applied to your account. Your promotional credit can only be used for purchases of eligible items shipped and sold by Amazon AU and will be automatically applied during checkout. If a new Amazon.com.au account is created, it may take up to 48 hours for the promotional code to be successfully applied at checkout. See full terms and conditions below.

My amazon account always gets locked whenever I try and use one of these gift card promotions. Not worth the effort in having to call them again to get it unlocked.

  • +3

    Cmon prezzee deals, come back

  • +8

Not worth the effort, just another shit GC deal.

  • Thanks, free $10 can't say no.

    • +1

      It's not technically free

      • +1

        Practically, then.

        It’s good to be practical

      • +1

Well I mean yes but nothing is free then.

          • @Poor Ass: Free E book requires account and your details.

Free watch face requires you to have the watch already.

            You get the idea.

            • @MrMoo: Nah you have to spend money to get the bonus that's the condition so not free

              Stop with the examples lol

              • +1

@Poor Ass: But I already spend thousands on Amazon a year. $250 isn't a stretch.

  • 4% is of course better than 2% on Cashrewards GC programme. But is still not a lot compared to the Prezzee deals, which, I am afraid, are not coming back. One little difference though: that 4% comes in the promo credit which is very far from cash or even Amazon GC. Promo credit is the main reason I pass the deal.

I agree that cash is king, but I spend enough on amazon that the $10 is virtually cash for me anyway; Amazon is usually the lowest priced a lot of the time anyway. Really wished I saw this earlier cause I just spent some money on Amazon GC through Macquarie, only 3% discount on that

    • less then 4%

      • +1

3.8% as promo credit, which could be considered worse than 3.5% off gift card

    • What happened to the Prezzee deals?

      • Who knows? They were regular and then they stopped. Same thing that happenned to the Boost deals.

  • +1

per capita recession = shit GC deals

what next, interest rate rise(s) ?

    • lol, OzBargain is a reason the inflation keeps rising. The eneloop deals lead to a rise in consumer spending, this leads to an increase in inflation. And subsequently RBA will increase one more interest rate this year 😭

  • +4

Very piss weak of a promo

    • +1

      C'mon Bezos you billionaire tightass

  • +4

yeh pretty shit deals for a while on Amazon credit. Give us at least 5%.

    I

  • cant redeem

  • +3

My goonbag has a better percentage than this.

  • +1

I did the Amex one where I got $10 for every 60 ?? (and then realised for every $200 or so I get $5?) so I stacked em all for $600 credit, something like that.

However, the Amazon 5$ was kinda crap it said "gives you 5$ randomly on some products occasionally which we are offering it on" (something like that…..) so it really wasn't worth it in that regard, I thought it was just going to be $5 outright applicable anywhere.

  • +1

    4% is better than 3% I guess.

  • Would this work for items that have not shipped yet?

    • +1

      The gift card credit?
Yeah, go to order details and there will be a text box where you can apply the gc credit and whatever left will be moved to your gift balance. If they authorised your payment card and it's pending before you do that they will cancel the pending transaction and use your gift card credit instead.

      The extra $10? Not sure.

      • +1

Cool, just purchased the iPhone on backorder. Figured I could save 10$. Thanks

  • +2

actually, i realised the other day that when using Amazon bonus credit, i wasn't getting the "S&S" price and there was nothing i could do to get around it

    • -1

Just use the Bonus Credit with another purchase.

      • +3

i couldn't find something i wanted/needed to buy that wasn't S&S.. i waited a while but eventually just put the S&S purchase through.

its a stupid restriction where you lose value. so wanted to alert/remind people

        • I wish I was spending so little on Amazon that this was even a remote concern…

        • Can you elaborate please? I'm pretty sure this is what stung me.

I thought I was making 15 dollars for every 200 spent (back with the Amazon deal) but it doesn't seem that way after all

    • +1

typically avoid these bonus credits because they invalidate cashback via SB, TCB & CR then items have to be shipped and sold by amazon, take months to find something with 0% cashback category and not a third party seller but gift card deals have dried up and it's better than nothing

  • Is the $10 promo credit usually available instantly?

    • +3

Not in my case… Been 12 hours n still waiting

    • +1

No, it says a three days or something like that. I haven’t received it yet.

      • anyone received the $10 credit yet?

  • How is this a deal ? If you are a member of some sort of perk like insurance etc. you always have 4-5% off gift cards anyway. Like OP said nothing special.

    • If you are a member of some sort of perk like insurance etc. you always have 4-5% off gift cards anyway

You just answered your own question. This is for people who don't have those kind of memberships

I would rather keep buying the Amazon gift cards through the Bupa award program to get 3% discount and not being locked in for one single transaction of $250 to get the $10 credit. This would only be good for those who happen to have something to buy at that high value.

    • You can use the gift card value over several purchases. It’s quite easy to spend $250 these days

      • What they are suggesting is they can still get 3% discount if they buy $50 gift cards as an example and don’t have to outlay $250 in one go.

        • sure but this discount is a whole 33% higher :)

    • locked in? Hmmm, Amazon credit is virtually like cash to me, I'll use it eventually.

  • +2

Careful with promo credit. It invalidates cashbacks.

  • Amazon gift cards are 4.5% off for Australian Unity members, eg pay $238.75 for a $250 digital gift card
    https://membercommunity.australianunity.com.au/s/rewards

    • Send me your login details I need to buy some

  • Has anyone received their promo credits?
It does say up to 3 business days, it's been 24 hours for me (purchased on the 29th) but still nothing.
    Anyone with similar experience?

    • Haven't got mine yet either and I bought before you. Usually it's instant so it's a bit weird.

    • Did you get an email confirming the $10 promo credit? I didnt receive the email which I normally would get so wondering if my promo credit will show up.

      • i just received the email 1min ago confirming the $10 promo credit even though I purchased the gift card on the 28th.

        • Received my email this morning. So seems like a 2 day lag
