    Oh it's for Subway … :(

This would have been handy an hour ago lol

    • So it's a good deal.

  • +4

Gotta pay service and delivery fee….

    • +1

…which could end up being close to $15 !

  • Can't preorder

  • +1

Not finding Subways in Adelaide are participating, others find the stores are limited?

  • +6

Here, have $15 off, here pay $20 in fees and delivery.

    • -5

Menulog / Uber Eats, etc. etc…
are nothing with their delivery drivers.

No drivers = no delivery company.

If their drivers start finding work elsewhere,
the company finds it harder to stay "afloat",
so this is a way to keep their drivers engaged.

      • +2

drivers don't get anything of what these companies charge, they're on a set delivery, and if you tip, that's on you.

        • I don't know who negged me, but I meant to write the following:

Menulog / Uber Eats, etc. etc…
are nothing without their delivery drivers.

          • +1

@whyisave: Wrong, they can Always depend on 3rd parties or so bot drones soon enough won't need you guys.

            • @DEvok: Bring on the drones anyday !

          • +1

@whyisave: Until self driving automobiles start doing the deliveries. Or the drones, there's always the drones.

          • @whyisave: Great….. And Subway is nothing without it's sandwich artists, whats your point?

            • @Bypass: The point was, more and more of their coupons include 'delivery only' deals.

The 'delivery only' deals prevent the customer from doing pick-ups,
which is what many customers do as well, thereby cutting out the drivers.

So, if you're a driver, if you're waiting and waiting for a delivery,
but none come through, then you would switch to another company.

As a customer, if your order takes longer and longer with Menulog to deliver,
then you don't go back to Menulog the next time.

Hence, a delivery company needs its drivers, otherwise they can't be a "delivery company".

              PS:
My original reply was to someone else's point.

        • -1

I know the drivers don't get anything near what the companies charge,
because they're all employed on poor 'salaries' and as an individual contractor.

Besides the companies also need to pay the developers, extract value for share-holders (which could even be the person ordering on Menulog), etc. etc.

I don't like this set up, where the workers in Australia,
have to deliver in this manner for low salaries, and I have never bought anything via a delivery service.

I know about why they work in that way, eg. flexibility, side income, etc.,
but I feel it's a race to the bottom too.

If Menulog is still operating in Australia by the end of the year, I will eat a roll of paper towel.

      Noted.

Tried multiple stores and didn't work.

Maybe specify your state / the stores

You're actually not saving a lot of money with this deal, since the markups, delivery and service fee add up to almost the same amount as the voucher.

For me it's cheaper to pick up 2 subs than get them delivered using this offer. Good for those who want delivery, I guess.

    • +1

I got 2 12 and 1 6 Pizza melts delivered today, was opposite of what I thought it was going to cost with fees.
$22 and some change for delivery.

    • +1

Yeah with my local, it's basically equivalent to buy 2 of the lowest priced footlong subs get free delivery deal.

      • Subway at Carlton has a 10% discount today on the app and making the service fee a bit cheaper. However, I just checked, and it would still be cheaper to pick up the subs instead (it's more than $6 for a 6-inch)

  • -1

    Chicken bacon ranch footlong:

    Instore subway cost $15ish
    Menulog is $20ish.
Markup of $5 per sub = $10 markup for 2 of these + $5 for delivery and service fees.

In my case $15 markup but with $15 discount = free delivery so not really a great deal.

  • -5

Subway being across the road for me, saving the delivery is not really applicable to me. Would have been great if there was a pickup option.

  • Thanks OP.

    • Username doesn't check out !

Here’s some light hearted Aussie sarcasm for you mate.

  • Does this work for pick up

    • No
