wait so no digital radio, and you've gone to so much trouble to have it look nice only to put a blue bluetooth logo on it? I don't get it.

    • Yeah, well I’m on the wrong side of 50 and I never understood the attraction of AM radio…

Heck has it also only got mono sound?

    • yeah would have expected DAB+ as a minimum , stream via bluetooth from what ..phone, so unless you want AM or FM it’s a bluetooth mono speaker ?

Paying $239 for a radio in 2024 that isn't DAB doesn't appear to be a bargain.

  • Who wants to hear the stupid ads on the radio these days
I think it’s so old now
    It’s probably more for elderly

  • I'd be careful of these products.

I had a Pure Sensia dab which cost me a mint then one day they turned off the backend that kept it working and killed it. https://radiotoday.co.uk/2023/04/pure-to-discontinue-flow-pl…

Don't know if this Tivoli Audio - Model One BT relies on Tivoli for support but if it's a 2012 and does I wouldn't expect it to work for much longer.

    • I have a Kogan digital radio that I bought years ago that is very good - great sound, and internet radio, but like you, the internet radio backend is changing. In this case it's going to a subscription model instead of being free.

the companies that used to make the chipsets used to run the back ends for free, change of ownership can change the backend access models

    • This is a basic AM/FM radio with a Bluetooth input option.

      • Oh. Sounds very expensive then.

    • one day they turned off the backend that kept it working and killed it

Killed the internet radio service, but the DAB and FM functions of the radio still work.

    Wow $240 for a basic AM/FM/Bluetooth radio.

The sound quality needs to be super.

Not a deal though? $$224.25 from here?
