5w in 2024, is this a wireless charger for ants

    • +4

for $2, better than laying it flat on a table where you work or study

    • +3

I've not had any experience with charging ants. Can you please explain?

      • +2

if you get enough, they can siege a castle

      • -1

If you squash an ant and put it on your tongue it's a bit like putting a partially flat 9v battery on your tongue. So makes sense to me, try it.

Can you stack 'em and get more power?

Ye, 5w is slow for sure but a great nightstand item for $2. Charge your phone overnight without adding wear on the charging port

  • Ive only slow charged my current phone every night and the battery is still as good going on 4 years now. After seeing how long this phone has lasted, I avoid fast charge

    • +4

So what's your actual battery health, not including your own opinion?

I wouldn't think charging your phone every night to 100% is better than fast charging more often to less than 80%.

      • lol i slow charge to 80% because the battery on my iPhone 15pm is well brand new and very good.

  • +1

Cheap microUSB cable even if the charger itself gives in early to that planned obsolescence.

  • +5

Nice, now that they allow 10 in cart, i can stack 10 over each other's and get a super fast wireless charger

How many hours does it take to charge a 4500-5000mah from 0% to full?

    • +3

      Yes

    • +1

Less than a day. More than an hour.

    • +1

I used an online calculator. 4500mah, 5W/5V, Lithium, 0% current charge. Theoretically = 4.7 hours of charge time to full.

I added 10 to my cart for click and collect but got " Out of Stock Online" message.

I would research the effects of wireless charging on a phone's battery and heat issues.if U need to leave it on this 5w pad for nearly 5 hours to get a full charge what potential harm are U doing to Ur phone?

  • Order got cancelled. Bit annoyed.

  • Would anyone know if this chargers an iphone? Cheers

    • It charges my pixel 7 if that helps.

    • It charges my iPhone XR

  • +3

    My own research:
wireless charging is safe for your phone.
The heat generated won't affect the batteries life, the number of charges will.
Most will trickle charge when the battery is full, just like wired charging.
    Less efficient by about 30%.

    ymmv

  • High charging temps, up to 50% more energy usage and slow as heck to charge. I'm good thanks. Takes 2 seconds to plug in my charger and it doesn't look as unsightly as a cheap pad

  • bought sth similar from Ikea 3 years ago for $5, not even worth it back then. Too fking slow.

Mine has been shipped and it's coming via Couriers Please. I can finally use wireless charging on my old phone and new head phones. I don't care if it's slow, I just want a backup in case the USB socket breaks.

    • And I just received a refund from Kmart. The item has been marked as lost in transit. Couriers Please say they never picked it up and Kmart seems to think it's shipped.

      Le sigh..

      • +1

Couriers Please have found and delivered my package. So I have my money and recharge pad. Between Kmart and Couriers Please I feel like I'm stuck between two clown shows.

        Jokers to the right
        Here I am
Stuck in the middle with you

  • Slow is ok, but I just found its causing the phone to be very hot, is this normal for wireless charging?
