Walking Pad? Treadmill?

Anyone uses a walking pad or treadmill?
I see also a manual option.

If you have one, how useful is it and how often do you use it?

Is there any good deals available? 🤔

  • define good?
do you want a reliable one or cheap one.

do you ONLY want to walk at relatively walking speeds with no incline or do you want to actually have incline and run on it too

are you planning to do it like how many do on instagram and have it under a sit stand desk and walk while also 'doing work'?

    • I've always wondered about that, how well does it actually work if you are walking and trying to type/use a mouse for productivity work? it seems terrible impractical

      • yep seems totally impractical to me yet here we are with influencers everyday showing videos of it. idk.

I use one at low speeds while at my desk, depending on what you're doing it's not that bad or difficult to get use to it, albeit again at low speed

      • It would be great for those useless meetings

like most exercise gear, will get used regularly for a week, then slowly will become somewhere to hang clothes to dry..

    • do you have one? how well does it work for drying clothes? how's the racking space, please provide a detailed review

Its not as good or spacious as the exercise bike.

    • My wife uses her exercise bike multiple times per week despite having had it for over a decade, and it still gets used to dry clothes.

Walking pad? Who calls it that? 🤣

  • Sign up to a gym for a month and see how much you actually like walking/running. I actually quite like running while watching tv (before I got old and fat, anyway)

    • I think most people over the age of 2 know if they like walking or not

      • As a 40 year old currently laid up with a screwed knee, I disagree. I can barely walk to take a piss.

It’s a bit different being in the same spot for an hour. I found it incredibly therapeutic yet I find walking on the footpath annoying.

      • Most people know if they can walk. Some people can’t stand walking and staring at a wall/screen. I’m one. It’s outside, or the couch.

    • before I got old and fat, anyway

      Too late for me then…

Time and kfc deals come for us all in the end

  • I bought one off FB and asked nicely if they'd deliver if I don't haggle on the price, which they did.

Intention was to walk whilst I'm WFH, but it's impossible to type at the same time, so sold it and just resorted to walking outside, which I enjoy way more, tried to kill two birds with one stone but nope.

Just in case that's your intention also.

    • does it work ok when writing or using an ipad?

Nope, your upper body moves a lot more than you think and it's impossible to keep hands steady to do anything that remotely requires accuracy. If you want to walk and watch something that's obviously not a problem.
