      • Cancelling last years auto renewal of membership (St Kilda) I couldn't find any way to do it, except email them… and then they still charged me for it and had to follow them up for a refund. They make it very very difficult to cancel!

      Here's my situation:
      I've got a $10 Qantas discount applied til July. I was thinking of letting that run til July, then adding the 12 month code I just got… would that work? Then I'd have free Kayo from July-July?

    • I don't have any option to select the Basic plan. A bit better than yours but It only shows the One plan I'm already on. According to their own FAQ I'm supposed to change the plan first.

  • Brisbane Lions one only has one payment option of "Loyal Lion Annual" which auto renews yearly. Sure you can cancel it but look out for it - presumably the others are the same through ticketmaster.

      Not even annually from signup. They (St Kilda) wanted my auto renewal payment in October!

      • The year starts in November. If you buy now you're technically wasting a few months back to November.

      • Richmond were pests, also. Saying I'm overdue & kept peppering me. I sent an email saying to take me of all lists & make no contact. Wasn't long until the sent again. Slick replies each time. They know what they're doing.

      The lions sent me a text about a week before it was due to renew. It said "call us if you want to cancel" do I did. Cancelled it and then was requested to send an email.

      Also removed my cc details from Ticketmaster.

      Have just renewed to get this new code.

    • It says "Kayo Basic" everywhere which is 2 screens.

        It gives a $30 per month discount. So I suspect with the price rise, $5 per month is still payable after the membership.

        • Unlikely. It is advertised as Kayo Basic for 12 months and not a discount per month. That may be a $30 credit / month discount currently but they'd struggle to justify keeping that credit the same.

    Just a word of caution. I got this through The Saints last year at the start of the footy season (March-ish). They then tried to auto renew me in OCTOBER for the 2024 season. There was absolutely no way to cancel automatically and I had to email their helpline to cancel (Who then called me trying to get me to stay and asking why I was leaving). They confirmed in an email they had cancelled my membership… and then I still got charged and had to contact them again to issue a refund (which at least they did do pretty quickly).

    So yes it is cheap, but an absolute pain in the butt to cancel and I would not recommend.

    • just have to rotate those credit cards once or twice a year. helps protect against fraud also.

    Every time I come back I remember I cant do a basic thing like resume a 3h F1 race. Get pissed all mighty trying to find my spot. The experience grinds my gears and is almost not worth Free.

  • If you already have a Kayo basic account and payments get deducted monthly, do you have to cancel the subscription and then use the 12 month Kayo redemption? Or do you just add the 12 month redemption and it will stop charging you monthly?

      That's how it worked for mine back when I did it in June 2023. I pay for the now non existent premium. Once I applied the voucher provided by the AFL, I just had to pay the difference between basic and premium per month ($7.50 or something).

      However, now that I'm already on an existing AFL member sub, I need to wait until it runs out before applying the new code. Looks like they can only apply one code per acct.

  • I got the membership and then the code. I am currently on the Kayo One subscription already and the code won't work. I also can't see how to even upgrade to the Kayo Basic version. Anyone?

      Contact Kayo support, not Ozbargain.

    • My account appears to be fixed (after contacting Kayo support) although I've not received an update from them that it has. They seemed to know it was a larger issue
      so I expect all the accounts will be fixed now. If not contact their support - it was surprisingly easy to get a real person on the chat.

    • It provides 12 months of Kayo Basic according to all the wording. It does not provide a $30/month credit.

      Not sure why this is hard to follow but keeps getting asked.

        When you redeem the voucher on Kayo it says 12 months at $30 credit. (not 12 months of Kayo Basic)

        Thats why it keeps coming up yes you would hope they honor the terms of the AFL wording, but i'm sure they are going to need to update something along the way. I will be checking it post price rise.

  • Anyone else only have access to 1 screen? It seems the 14 Feb change degraded the AFL Digital Membership to Basic 1 screen.

    • I haven't been able to redeem my voucher yet! Contacted support a week ago and they still haven't got back to me with a solution.

      I'll definitely think twice about getting the digital voucher next time. If I end up with 1 screen as well it'll be the icing on the cake. It'll mean that paying for a 12 month voucher is barely any better than just paying monthly. It would be basically 2 months free with the voucher, but I only really need Kayo 6 months a year anyway.

  • Hmm, I got the Bulldogs one and didn't get a free scarf. I did get a $20 shop voucher.

    I also still can't redeem the voucher on my account!

      • I was on the basic package, I cancelled before the billing cycle which ended a week ago. Been trying to redeem this voucher since then.

        It seems that my account is in some sort of no man's land. Hubbl says it's in the process of being cancelled and says I need to reactivate before adding the voucher. If I try to remove Kayo from hubbl it say it's already cancelled.

        If I try adding the voucher from Kayo it says "This voucher will override any existing promotions that have been applied to your account, as listed below. Please click OK if you wish to proceed."

        There's nothing "listed below" and no OK button.

        Tried various ways many times and always get stuck.

        I was using a $12.50 Telstra Plus Gold offer before, so maybe that has messed up my account. Wasn't getting billed through Telstra though, I was paying with credit card.

        I created a new account and it seems like it's going to let me add it to that, but I don't want to use a new account as it was created with a family member's email and mobile. I want to use the Kayo account I've been using for years!
